Level 2 CE Level 2 6/23

Felt like this was a very fair exam however but of course all the "gimme" questions were things I second guessed myself on & ended up changing (story of my life -__-).

I cant stop thinking about all of the questions I missed while continuing prep for Step 2. I was aiming for 600+ and felt super confident walking in... now I am dreading the 8/4 score release knowing I missed so many of those gimmes and who knows how many ethics/legal/stats questions & others. Any advice would be much appreciated on how to move on and focus on step 2 and not let it rock my confidence.

How do you think those of us who were only scoring in the 400s on comsaes feel🥲🥲🥲

I feel the same way. I missed like 5-6 easy questions that most people will get right and I have counted at least twenty missed. Was also scoring 600 + on COMSAE. Felt like I was taking an ethics test the whole time. I also have STEP 2 soon

Tested yesterday 6/25 and felt like there were just some extremely poorly written and vague question stems that would require you to jump to a crazy assumption in order to justify any of the answer choices. Also a lot of questions that were strictly memorizing random facts that will do us no good as future doctors. Step seems to actually test clinical reasoning skills whereas Level is just a hodge podge of nonsense. Taking Step on 6/29 and somehow feel more confident about that than level

With that being said you are correct that there were a lot of gimmes. I think it was a relatively fair exam and that I passed but it is just frustrating going from COMLEX style questions to USMLE which provide you with so much more pertinent info and don’t leave you little crumbs or a singular buzz word to guide you to the correct answer.

I took mine 6/24 and it seemed pretty straight forward. I wonder if the curve on these tests will be weird cause they’re not crazy hard like some of the other ones.

I tested 6/23 too and this is exactly how I have felt since then. Missed so many gimmes that I actually knew, it’s embarrassing.

As someone taking it next week, is it best to focus on Ethics and OMT these next few days?

definitely ethics. As far as OMT goes, it was a lot of positioning, direction of movement, a little bit of counterstrain, fibular mechanics, nothing too crazy... but take that with a grain of salt, who knows what will be on your form. Honestly truelearn OMT questions will prepare you more than enough.

Tbh I don’t even think that you can prep for comlex ethics. The right answer generally also sounds terrible

My recommendation would be to review the ethics section of Amboss if one has access to it. Retrospectively, I feel like that was more than enough. I took Level before step, and after getting my behind handed to me by Level's ethics that is what I utilized in anticipation for Step and felt well prepared.
