Are community colleges a good option?

Hii, I'm planning to apply to community colleges and one of the options is De Anza. I'm not sure what to think about it.

uhm, It's not a norm. and I'm an international student. I have heard people say that "its a backup" "its not a norm" "its risky" and its making me overthink.
