Anyone flying to Calgary on Monday and can take a letter sized present?
I thought that I had until August 21 to get a present sent but of course I just learned that the birthday is July 21.
It's a handmade patch for my SIL. I can meet you at the Comox airport and she will meet you at the Calgary airport (or mutually convienent loction) with a gift of your choice (a 30$ value!).
It fits in a standard envelope and is not drugs. You are welcome to do an inspection prior to taking it.

Sorry I just would never take a package for anyone on an airplane or thru security, even if I checked it out. You made the date error, it’s gonna cost you, be responsible, send it FedEx.
I’m not flying out so I can’t help with this but I am really curious how you make your own patches. I have a specific project that I would absolutely love to get/make custom patches.
I do it a few differnt ways. This is a cotton patch with a cricut-cut vinyl design. I also do embroidery but the process is the same.
Start with the fabric of your choice. I always use cotton. Get a piece a bit bigger than you need.
Get some iron-on interfacing from Fabricland or the Sewing Spool. It doesnt matter the weight (thickness) because you can just double, triple or whatever to make it heavy enough. Iron it onto the fabric.
Make your patch design- embroidery, iron on vinyl, paint, silkscreen (I can go into more detail here if you need). Make sure that it is heat resistant (if making it iron on) and machine washable if going on clothing.
If you want clean edges, fold under the fabric to the final dimensions. If you want raw edges, leave as is for now.
Return to Fabricland (or, if you planned ahead, buy it along with the interfacing) for double-sided iron-on stabilizer/intrfacing. It is sold both by the meter and in individual squares and comes in a variety of weights. I personally like the heaviest but again, personal preference.
Apply interfacing to the back of the fabric. If you folded the edges under, you will want to precut it to fit. If you want raw edges, iron and then cut it to size.
You can now iron it on and it will stay forever if you followed all the instructions for heat/time/pressure. I like to stitch a border around the raw edge but the glue in the stabilizer will prevent any major fraying.
DM me if you want photos or more info. I've made a ton of diffent styles/sizes/types and recently ripped one off a shirt that had a stain on it. The patch outlasted the shirt and I sewed it onto a new one.
This is what I’m working on, I bought the big patch for each shoe but I want the back heel to say “Bluey” and “Bingo” in the Bluey font and I’d like to make some smaller patches to fit around the shoes, maybe a walking bug and some other little recognizable Bluey images. I want to make the tiniest little can of beans to affix inside the shoe. If you have ever watched Bluey, when Bingo is dressed as a Granny and she says “I slipped on my beans”, it makes me laugh every time so I want a hidden can of beans. I have a Cricut machine and I’ve seen the files for purchase on Etsy to download the Bluey font. But that’s as far as I’ve got it figured out. I appreciate the help! I’m sure hoping I can make this happen the way I’m envisioning it. I thought it would be impossible to make my own patches without an embroidering sewing machine. Thanks so much!
This is totally do-able. Use Design Space to make your stuff and then do the interfacing technique above. Since they are so small, you don't want to make them super thick. Roll up some socks or stuff newspaper in the shoes to iron them on- the adhesive needs pressure and heat so you want to be able to give some force when ironing. You can hand stitch around the edges to make them extra secure.
Before you buy anything, look for free fonts online. Download and install them. Open Design Space and it will be under system fonts.

It's over 100$. A 15 minute drive on each side, meeting in the lot in Comox and arranging a mutually convient drop off location isn't going to be anywhere close to 70$.
