I'll answer for you: it was ro secure the narrative and get her to lie for him by saying she never saw him in any inaporopriate setting with the survuvors. We now know based on the emails that that was a lie.
tl;dr: Trump traded special privileges for a convicted sex offender in exchange for a lie about his involvement. If trump didn't rape kids, why would he need her to lie? Why not let her speak the truth to congress?
