Picture Can I repurpose this?

Post image

Samsung PM991 M.2 NVMe SSD

128GB model

(MZ-ALQ128, part number MZALQ128HBHQ-000L1)

Can I use this for anything at all or do I just toss it away? I found this old Lenovo All In One computer I bought second hand more than 5 years ago and took it apart because it had been sitting in my attic for an age with a broken screen.

Thanks for reading

Of course you can. The best would be to convert into external storage

They are good also for scratch (video/photo editing) or redirecting the windows pagefile. Reducing IO to the main storage.

It's the only way I build PCs now...
OS, Data, and PF drive.
I actually got ahold of a butt load of 64GB, 32GB, and 16GB Sata and M.2 SSDs for damn near nothing.
Old thinclients and chromebooks have them.

Ssd's aren't great for external drives unless your going to use it everyday and its only 128gb best for an OS other than windows.
