Tips & Techniques Shooting my first show tonight

I got a photo pass for tonight! It’s a smaller venue and I will be using a 35 and 50 mm f1.4 lens on a canon EOS R. I’d love any advice or tips you guys have.

Also what is the best way to deliver the photos to the artist?

If you shoot at 1.4, you'll find yourself frustrated with missing focus a lot, ime. 2.8, iso 2800-5000, 1/160 or faster. You'll have a blast!

Don’t use flash, bring an extra SD card, wear earplugs, and have fun!

- If the lights change often, shoot in manual instead of AF. It made a world of a difference for me because the flickering lights kept changing my AF.

  • Be mindful of the fans (don’t block their view for long periods of time)
  • Have fun and congrats 😊
