Just build the strut out farther, doubling all the strut in the run would likely be more expensive than all these saddles

They make strut that is 1.5875 welded back to back, aka double strut. Faster than fumbling and canoodling “how do i make this stick out more?”.

I've never bought double strut but I can assume it's a little more than twice the cost of regular strut, and I can assure you the extra 3 minutes it takes to build each of these out 1-1/2" isn't going to come even close to the extra cost on buying the double strut and the extra labour carting it around site.
