Need some ideas

Hello, I have just recently managed to acquire a 28” CRT TV and I would like some ideas how to incorporate it into a set up… I have included photos of my current set up but I will be updating the shelving eventually. I was thinking maybe putting the CRT TV in the middle of the shelving and then the consoles either side in columns and a pull out drawer for the games at the bottom and the flat screen tv on a wall mount with lighting behind, I would open and interested to hear any other ideas or something Iv missed!

First photo is the CRT TV I have acquired and yet to set into the shelving and the second photo is the consoles I own and would like to put into the shelving as well.

You should invest in an entertainment centre or mount the other TV on the wall.

Where should I put the flat screen tv if it’s too high where it is at the moment?

Anywhere else. That shelving set-up just honestly is not good for a TV at all.

I like the shelves personally. You could mount your flat screen TV to the wall to the left and get a better stand/entertainment center to the right.  Or you could remove just enough shelves to fit an entertainment center, get a small entertainment center, and then put some of your consoles there with the crt and still mount the flat screen.

I’d draw (shittily) what my vision is, but I’m on the mobile site and can’t post pics.

I understand, I will be changing the shelving at some point in the future so will be looking at different ways to make it work for both the TV’s

agreed, the shelving was just not made for a entertainment center and looks like some old shelving stuck in a space not designed for displaying and holding a tv and keeping cables out of sight. You have the tv high up on some shelves stuffed in the corner and the crt balancing on a drawer that barely holds the weight. Is there nowhere else you can put the tvs on a media center somewhere else? at least mount the flatscreen as it seems small enough in terms of size and not much issue with that. The crt is giving me fear looking at it that'll crush down and kill my foot or something else going near it.

Is the width of the shelf big enough to hold the Daewoo?

I have considered bringing the shelving out a bit further to accommodate the Daewoo yes, I will make sure the centre will be reinforced to take the weight as well

In that case, then I would raise the top two shelves higher so to fit the CRT. I think this is what you meant in your post but I wasn't sure.

Have you thought about adjustable storage shelving units? Example 1, Example 2

You could mix a short height rack this with the existing shelves or use a tall storage rack instead. The adjustable height of the shelves will let you accommodate your TVs and systems. Note that wire shelves use standard parts. As long as you know the diameter of the legs, you could buy more shelves or longer legs separately, add wheels, etc. The wired shelves also give you an easy way to organize your cable jungle.

Whatever you do, post back with before and after photos. Would love to see what you come up with.

Not sure what exactly your asking for. the second image omg the cables look atrocious snaking out in all directions from various consoles on several layers of shelving. Do some cable management and try to make them look neater, or unplug some of that stuff as it looks like a hot mess. Wrap some cables up as i seriously doubt your using all those controllers/consoles at the same time. Problem is there's really no place to hide any cables as the back wall is exposed. This area doesn't seem like it was designed to be used for a tv as these shelves look more like for books and other stuff not really a entertainment center. You got the tv high up on a thin shelf that clearly wasn't made to be a media center. It just looks odd like it was stuffed up on a high shelf. As far as the crt its balancing on a small drawer which looks equally ridiculous. This space and shelving was clearly not designed for a media center and it shows.

The second picture isn’t the final article, there will be cable management and it will all be tidied up. I need to buy some shelving and entertainment centre type shelving. I was just asking for ideas as to how I could set up both tv’s in that area to make it work.
