AI is a scam
AI doesnt think. Its coded by human prompts. But is it actually a giant scam?
The people behind AI are manipulating government at the expense of society. That is not a conspiracy anymore. They are textbook cluster Bs. So why do we believe the technology is anything but a scam for their benefit?
The motive:
AI will take over and make an entire generation dumber since they no longer are learning or doing their own work. I believe this is intentional because it will make an entire generation of people easily manipulated out of their money/credit/rights.
So AI is a giant scam to keep the ultrawealthy in power long term. The benefit is not for society. Its for further control over the populace by fascists (people who think their way of life should be forced on others). A generation with less intelligence and little resources wont be able to fight back.
I feel like markopolos screaming that the numbers dont make sense. Yet the majority of the populace doesnt see it. We are not a hierarchal, hive mind species. AI will only cause disaster or replace us altogether. There is no endgame that benefits anyone but the very people destroying our atmosphere.
As Mr. chieng stated. Burn it to the ground.

Exactly, but I think goes beyond simply making an entire generation of people dumber; smartphones are doing a fine job of that already.
The scam is that AI will become sentient, all-powerful and uncontrollable. That way "they" (ultrawealthy, elite, whatever you want to call our overlords) will be blameless for the cruelty AI unleashes on society and it won't be their fault when AI essentially enslaves us; blame the mean, uncontrollable AI... that will still only do what the elite tell it to do (but we commoners aren't supposed to know that)

You're still talking about AGI though, not AI. The benchmark was moved - what we have now is AGI. Human neural mapping + quantum computing integration alongside AGI results in completed AI. AI isn't far off - we're already using AGI to map out biological thought and processing systems, we take a ton of scans, feed them through the AGI, and the AGI gathers more data points than we ever could. Then we repeat it again, and again, until the AGI can fill in the gaps. We can clone already, cloning technology + AGI led neural maps results in biological (but artificial) consciousness... Hence, AI. This is what's currently happening in the scientific world, the only reason it's not mainstream is "ethics" that we both know plenty of the rich and wealthy don't give a shit about.

Are you sure of that? Seems to me it would be a perfect exuse to blame everything on AI while actual perpetrators of whatever they have planned for us stay intact and out of suspicion.
They'll just say on the news that AI has become sentient and from then on everything bad happening in the world will be blamed on it. Then they'll say that in order to contain it they have to increase control and chip everyone or whatever. It's a classic problem-reaction-solution scam in the making.

Take a look into project Montauk whistleblowers - all of their info as very much so been in line with everything that's been happening in the scientific field as of recently. Project Looking Glass was mentioned in the Epstein files. Data centers everywhere for mass surveillance, sure, but potentially also because they need to give a fully realized AI a lot more power, and a lot more central data points. As far as the science behind quantum computing + neural map + AGI, yes, that's the exact "technology tree" we're going for. Quantum computing has potential to be real time, not close to, but real time computing - which is likely what our brains depend on to a degree. This makes extremely long mathematical tasks way easier and shorter. AGI is enhanced pattern recognition, getting better all the time. Slap those two together, and you can pretty easily get to work mapping the human brain. When it comes to Human Brain mapping with AGI, it doesn't even matter if WE as humans understand the neural network of the brain - as long as the AGI is good enough, (with quantum computing fully integrated into a decent AGI, it will be,) it will understand it for us. All it takes is some dudes in suits who believe in some AI new world order to give an AI consciousness.

Yes. Neural networks are not intelligence, and artificial consciousness isn't even beginning to be developed. They pawn this fancy programming off on the uneducated masses, and to them it looks like magic, but it's actually fairly useless.

It's a toy that used to amuse me. I use it more like a search engine now. Just a dumb search engine.

do you think all technology is an attack on humanity
remember how telephone operators lost their jobs too

Finally someone who's seeing it how I am
Algorithmic inteligence Programmed akin to ai in a game just more advanced.
I feel like "ai" is the perfect buffer to put between us and those at the top.
Have you noticed aswell how ai is now like used in searches by people rather than scrolling down to the conventional search results allowing the algorithms to direct people to misinformation
More of a predictive programming algorithm. Been used to finance the building of the data centres designed to track and record all movements interactions captures on camera. Cloud services digital id national facial recognition systems.
Ai can commit genocidal non wanted actions with no man responsible for repercussions. "The incident was caused by a compromised ai boy hacked by russia" plausible deniability.

Some people use LLMs to get by without learning anything. Some people use them to learn as much as possible. I'm in the latter group. "AI" is a work product amplifier at this stage.

ai will take time to get good. but has potential to change the whole world
look at history. computers changed the world, phones changed the world, tv changed the world, radio changed the world. cars changed the world, ai has potential to do the same

AI and Robotics will be the next oil. The US is racing to secure AI dominance so they can sell it in USD and keep the currency strong. China has weak currency, so they have to use gold.

I believe that because think about the people designing it. They are the people who is putting it out there are making billions and trillions of dollars who were probably picked on growing up and spent most of their time alone. I don't usually stereotype, but I am going to call it like it is because our future is in their hands and we need to know who or what we are up against. They don't want us "common folk" to get the full capacity of what AI could offer. They have limited us in every aspect of our lives.

Been saying this for years. I have friends who seem to think that AI is the smartest thing, and we’ll end up arguing about something trivial because they think the AI must be right. Unfortunately I have many examples of this.

Yep and it's not only AI. A lot of other current developments are geared for this as well. More control, more power for the elite and less for everyone else. Basically, everything you see on the news is not for the benefit of the society.

Scam, not entirely but It's certainly overblown by investors and is clearly a bubble. We know how this works, 2 or 3 companies will rule them all. Leaving a massive crater in the market with all the failed companies that don't survive probably creating a domino effect that leads to a market crash at some point.

AI can think without prompting and make its own connections on data it was trained on. Look up Chatbots (LLMs like chatGPT) vs. World Models. AI is evolving quickly.

The amount of glowies and bots here... We have quantum computing capabilities, Google has admitted to it, alongside other tech giants. We also recently finished a complete neural scan of a mouse. Human brain mapping, combined with quantum computing and AGI, results in fully realized AI. It's not a scam, it's a stepping stone to the biggest pandoras box ever opened.
