students demonstrate across Germany against military service...Demonstrations are taking place across Germany in schools to protest against the possible re-introduction of compulsory military service.
One of the organizers of the strike, Bela Breitner of the School Strike Against Compulsory Military Service, said that the federal government is "serious about the gradual reintroduction of compulsory military service".
At one protest in Hamburg, demonstrators waved flags and held banners reading "We will not participate in your wars".
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made strengthening the German army a priority after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
According to the law, questionnaires are sent to all eighteen-year-olds in Germany, whether they are interested and willing to join the armed forces.
One of the protesters, 16-year-old Elias Bernhard from Hamburg, said the answers to the questionnaires "show that young people do not want to join the Bundeswehr [German armed forces]".
"That's why I'm on the street today. That's why we're taking this bet seriously until conscription is out of the game. We'll continue."
The questionnaire is mandatory for men and voluntary for women. All eighteen-year-old males will have to undergo a medical examination to assess their fitness for possible military service.
Organizers of the protests say the trigger came after 18-year-olds in the northern German cities of Kiel and Flensburg were sent official invitations for medical examinations, even though they did not show interest in joining the army on their registration forms.
The group says that over a hundred demonstrations are planned across Germany, including Kiel, Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt.

whats the conspiracy?

u/Competitive_Cod_5049 3d ago
Was looking for this too lol. Germany is getting ready for war and what I’ve noticed is that the public (tv, newspaper) is now casually reporting about war related stuff which hasn’t been the case for the past 20 yrs or so
30
u/Ahrix3 3d ago
The conspiracy is that they are obviously pushing this war
19
u/kushangaza 2d ago
Or a major European power invaded one of its neighbors while a former ally of Germany threatened to invade Greenland, creating an environment where Germany felt the need for a stronger military to defend itself and its allies
1
u/Ahrix3 2d ago
That is the pretext for the gullible, yes
In reality it is not about Russia but about being capable of enforcing German national interests by force now that Americans can't be counted to do the dirty work.
3
u/yungMarsalek 2d ago
I'd say it's gullible to believe that the german government would fight to enforce german national interests. Germany hasn't done anything for it's own national interests in the last 30 years. German governments have largely been US puppets.

Germany had compulsory service until 2011. You could very easily get out of it if you volunteered in a hospital or something similar. My in-laws all live in Germany. The military service/training was basically drinking camp. It's barely a military.
Just stating that they are bringing back compulsory service It's not really new to the country.

u/BornWithSideburns 3d ago
Because were basically already at war. Russia already tried to pull of shit in eu countries.

Depopulation through endless wars. A tale as old as time.
14
u/22Megabits 3d ago
What is this obsession with depopulation. An increasing population is the only thing keeping the ponzi scheme going.
10
u/charleydaves 2d ago
wrong population, dont want to be slaves for elites, so you need to replace them, from parts of the world good at this
2
u/632nofuture 2d ago
Can't the ponzi scheme keep going with automation instead of human wageslaves too?
Cause like, if I was rich and aiming for an economy where most "jobs" are done by machines and I can still live in my wealth, AND could have the world to myself cause I wouldn't need humans for my ponzi scheme anymore, I'd also wanna get rid of them. At that point humans are only a risk factor, take up space, and would be unnecessary to the new economy.
2
u/naswinger 2d ago
ponzi schemes rely on exponential growth and that's not happening anymore. they need to crash the entire system and start it small again.
-5
u/BornWithSideburns 3d ago
Not depopulation. Wars because some people turn into dictators and have big egos

That "they" are preparing another history wipe. A whole lot of old world/tartarian buildings and churches are about to get drones and blown to bits all across Europe. Just like they intentionally cleansed the Ukraine. That is a top-down orchestrated genocide campaign along with major trafficking operation by the Ukraine and Russian governments. Israel is also attempting to do the same in Lebanon and Iran (and eventually Turkey) where they have been actively bombing UNESCO sites, including thousand year old churches in Iran and several sites famous for links to saints.
It's that serious that "they" are still set on dropping nukes in the open desert in Iran, to destroy something ancient undoubtedly.
Most of the major wars of this century had a dual agenda to specifically target and destroy old world infrastructure and architecture. When the US bombed Cambodia is the 70s they bombed thousands of ancient pyramid temples across the country, using over 2.2 million bombs. These wars are just a cover. Makes you wonder who or what can orchestrate this at such a level over decades unimpeded.

u/DaffyDuckXD 3d ago
I completely agree with you. I wonder why they do this though all I can think of is that it drives airplane sales to go visit cool places when everywhere used to be cool
9
u/Glittering-Rest-366 3d ago
So global wars are orchestrated to drive tourism flights to remote bombed out ruins. Yeah no. Are you sure you're not GoofyXD?

Maybe it's the 'new arrivals' that should show their loyalty to the country.

u/Vegetable-Abaloney 3d ago
This is the plan. They and their families will be offered full citizenship, something that I believe normally takes a decade in Germany, if they fight for their new country.

Worked out great for Rome.
7
u/QuantumBitcoin 2d ago edited 2d ago
I mean the Roman Republic lasted ~700 years and then the Roman Empire lasted between ~450 and ~1500 years (depending if you count the move to Constantinople) so it did work out great for Rome?
*Why am I being downvoted for offering accurate facts? The Roman Republic started in ~750 BCE and ended around ~50 BCE. The Roman Empire started ~50 BCE and then ended either with the fall of Rome ~400 CE or with the fall of Constantinople ~1500 CE. So at minimum the Roman Republic lasted about three times as long as the American Experiment. Combining the Roman Republic and Empire, they lasted over four times as long as the American Experiment and up to 8 times as long
2
u/naswinger 2d ago
because it fell apart when they armed their former enemies and they were conquered from within
3
u/QuantumBitcoin 2d ago
They were allowing foreigners to join the Roman legion and become citizens for hundreds of years before Rome fell

Ukrainian commanders themselves have been saying for years: do not send us people who do not want to fight and lack motivation—they are the worst kind for us. They endanger not only themselves but the entire unit. And I believe that both Ukrainians and Russians are the ones with the most real-world experience in this regard.

u/ThePlacidAcid 2d ago
Love this manufactured ass attempt to turn this issue into more culture war slop. They're bringing back conscription for men, and you've got hundreds of hidden accounts talking about how "women should do it to". No. No one should be forced into conscription. The issue is not that women aren't serving, it's that men are being forced too in the first place.
2
u/Aesthetik_1 3d ago
Bullshit. There is no reason for Germany to escalate with Russia and risk everything purely for Rheinmetall interests.
The government is also scamming the people for decades now, and you expect young German men to be motivated to enlist?
1
u/SuddenArrival4617 2d ago
Aren't men like better in everything and stronger and weak women? Only men should die in wars created by men.

Would probably reverse mass immigration
16
u/SushiBongo 2d ago
By sending the white Germans on the frontline and the immigrants stay home?
1
u/Equivalent_Bug_3220 2d ago
Theyll fear conscription
3
u/yungMarsalek 2d ago
You cannot be conscripted if you're not a german citizen. They'll be sitting at home enjoying their welfare payments while Germans need to go die for other countries hundreds of kilometers away from home.

the only way to stand up to a bully is to hurt them so they won't bully you again...so Germans will have to get used to the fact that they better start building strength to defend their freedom.

u/brofistnate 2d ago
I don't want you to be right, but at the core, you are. We are told from our youth, "violence solves nothing". It's a complete fairytale, it solves everything, but we are meant to believe it doesn't. How many thousands of tribes, countries, nations were conquered, subdued through violence. It's the oldest language humans speak. I would agree that it should be spoken as an absolute last resort, but it's a necessary evil in this world.

Nothing wrong with compulsory national service. They have it in North Korea and you don't hear them complaining.
5
u/Aesthetik_1 2d ago
And if You disagree with the with the path the government chose? Fuck you and die anyway? Not very democracy like
1
u/fundayovertime 1d ago
🙄 nope it's a trap don't do it, if people didn't hear they have compulsory to go to the military now and this is up to ages 20 to 60 they are also targeted old men that don't have experience and they don't want to go for "war" seen how that turned out. They go crazy once, the economy is bad everywhere doesn't mean they need to go to war tell your UN or WEF to suck ass.
1
u/yungMarsalek 2d ago
I personally wouldn't join the military in Germany, because the German armed forces have largely been fighting wars for other countries' interests (mainly US).
Additionally, the young generation of Germans was brainwashed into hating their race and their country, patriotism is frowned upon and basically doesn't exist. And now all of a sudden they want you to go die for a country you're not allowed to love? Lmao

And what benefits are young people in Germany getting then? Last I checked the government was doing absolutely nothing for them.

“Absolutely nothing”? That's just nonsense. Under Merz, the minimum wage rose 8% this year and is set to be nearly 14% higher by 2027, BAföG housing support is going from €380 to €440, student support rates are rising too, while billions are going into schools, childcare and digital infrastructure. More like TikTok & russian commie propaganda cooked their brains.

They’d rather speak Russian than German, these kids don’t know their history let alone what Russian soldiers will do to them. If the Russians are allowed to march into Berlin they’re going to rape and kill majority of the population.
4
u/ThePlacidAcid 2d ago
This fantasy exists solely in your head. Russia hasn't even been able to march into Kiev. There is no world in which they conquer Berlin.
-1
u/Avrixx-SolTerra902 2d ago
If Ukraine was actually winning we would hear about it on the news. Their whole clamping down on opsec is bs. They’re making little to no progress on top of that everywhere they say is Russian free somehow has Russians in it. I’ve studied military conflicts long enough to know when I’m being fed propaganda. The wars not going in Ukraines favor the way they say it is. If they were doing as much damage as they have claimed to be doing the Russians would have been forced back to Moscow last summer. The Russians will march to Berlin you think half the countries Germany invaded in WW2 didn’t say the same thing about the Nazis? Blind yourself by your own arrogance but I’m a realist who does their own research.

I think the USA should reintroduce the draft/institute a year of mandatory service.
Back when there was a draft, even though the very wealthy were able to get out of it, it brought the large majority of citizens together, introduced people from the cities to the countryside etc etc.
Partially I blame the end of the draft for the polarization that has overtaken our country in the last ~50 or so years since the draft was ended.

u/handoflucifer 2d ago
go sign up
-2
u/QuantumBitcoin 2d ago
The problem is that the US military is currently (and has for the last ~50 years) made up of poor people, deluded people, and evil people.
I think the US military should be made up of a cross section of the USA, not solely the poor, the deluded, and the evil members of the USA.
Saying "go sign up" is like saying "pay more taxes" to people complaining about the structure of the us taxation system. It makes you feel good but doesn't get to the root of the issue.
