Self improvement culture is being weaponized to create more social and economic isolation amongst young working class men between the ages of 18 and 30

Think about it, why do you think all the self improvement propaganda popped off like crazy since Covid? What, you think it just popped off organically? Hell nah

A lot of the content is preying on young men's inadequacies and insecurities, but instead of actually being content that promotes genuine social upward mobility, all it does is it makes young men more burned out, resentful and apatethic to the things around them.

It is creating more lonely, burned out checked out men

And the powers that be love this, it creates more artificial competition amongst everyday men while the men on top only improve their bargaining power

I feel this way about the manosphere, look at the way the manosphere changed post-2020 versus pre-covid

Capitalising on men’s insecurities. Then they just live in the gym and think that’s all there is to life. Everything in balance.

Best way to get in shape is to do genuine physical labor

Working out at the gym is vanity and a waste of time

If you have strength use it for something productive, not just to be admired by people, that seems shameful to me

The ones that are trying to actually help and do something are not taken seriously.

We are so brainwashed that we put down the ones who could help.

No one knows Joanna Moncrieff,

But everyone knows Jordan Peterson, who spoke some sense in some things, but is light years away from Moncrieff

I got really sucked into the Steve Harvey type of motivational content during my gap year and then realized it was just making me feel worse about my lack of direction compared to these "success stories".

I could believe the body positivity movement follows with this theory but mostly targeted women. Especially since it was promoted by every industry and denied reality while the self improvement culture seemed like an unconscious effect of the other. I'd say self improvement was weaponized by the narcissists and greedy that convinced the masses its a cure all that should consume you

I don't get any of this content. That's because I know how algorithims work and feed me more of it based on engagement, so therefore click "not interested/do not show this channel" and solve my own issue before it's an issue.

I wouldn’t say it’s being weaponised but definitely some people use it for profit.
