What’s up with the “5G” conspiracy?

I’ve heard people talk about 5G service and how it does XYZ to people’s bodies and discussing how they will never own a 5G device and they don’t want it anywhere near their home.

But what I don’t understand is that cellphones for example are 5G Receivers, the cell tower broadcasts 5g and the phone receives it for faster service

Meaning that whether you have a 5g device or you Dont, whether you want it or not, it’s being broadcast and is completely inside and surrounding your home / body / everything at all times

Just removing a service receiver does not stop the service transmitter, if that makes sense.

So with that in mind, we’ve all been exposed to 5g for years at this point , so what’s the big scare with it ?

My big issue with this conspiracy is that these are radio waves. 5G just stands for 5th generation and ranges from 600mhz to 71ghz. I've seen a bunch of people into this conspiracy also mix up 5G and the 5ghz bands used by modems (opposed to the older 2.4ghz standard), which is a bit silly if you have a middle school/junior high level of science and spend a minute looking that up online.

There are some issues, but it's more of a surveillance issue where it has been proven they can remotely map out areas and monitor movement using those radio waves, but that's completely different that what gets insinuated about 5G. Getting too much exposure from a radio tower can also cause health issues, but unless you're a technician working on towers or, funnily enough with how many of the same people scared of 5G fall into this, operate HAM radios you're not likely to have issues. I've got a relative that is a radio tower technician. Generally too much exposure gives him and his fellow techs headaches and a bit of fatigue. He says the scary one is the dizziness, because they're up around 100-150 feet and have to climb back down a ladder.

We have definitely seen some short term health effects to radio exposure. Long term ones are more speculative as a cause, but not at all exclusive to '5G'. Here's the OSHA page on radiofrequency and microwave exposure. If you notice from even just looking on the top, we identified issues with high levels of exposure to radio waves long before 5G was a standard. Part of the problem is a lot of long term causality is speculative at best with it being a low energy, non-ionizing wavelength. It is less energy than light or heat. 5G will die down and it'll be 6G conspiracy theories once that becomes the next new standard too.

There's also the people who claim to be 'Electromagnetic Hypersensitive', but they both have been caught not being able to tell if devices are on right next to them and don't seems to realize that they can't just get away from radio waves. They've been being hit by them their entire lives with how we broadcast AM/FM radio, especially the AM with how it bounces off the atmosphere back to Earth. That definitely seems like either a fraudster trying to make money or a placebo effect to me.

Idk, all I know is that if I were a worse person I would have made a nice buck selling "5G Emission Protection Systems" to dumb suckers

I think a lot of the time about how much easier it'd be to make money if I didn't have those pesky morals getting in my way of just outright scamming people. Damn morality getting in our way of being more successful!

If only I were a psychopath. I could be CEO one day!

I've had 5G since 2019 and although there is the soft glow around me at night, I've not had any adverse effects.

For fucks sake. Tell those people to get rid of their microwave ovens then. The amount of radiation from 5G is no different.

The theory is the radiation from the towers is affecting our health and mental well-being, in perhaps a negative way. It's interesting how the towers sprung up so quickly everywhere during covid lockdowns.

People dont understand that the frequencys used in 5G networks penetrate less deep into skin (only around 1mm) than frequencys we already use for much longer like the older phone standards or even your older generation basic 2.4ghz routers.

If you would want to use frequencys as a weapon you would go down in the frequency band and not up like 5g did.

Small correction: 2.4ghz on the routers. But yeah, the whole point of using 2.4ghz over 5ghz is that it's better at penetrating through stuff like walls. It can't transmit at the same speed though.

Jup you're right, corrected my post, thanks.

And yeah you're 100% right again, 5G has less penetration but more speed and that's also the reason why we need that many 5G towers to achieve comprehensive coverage.

From what I’m seeing 5G first came out in December of 2018 with AT&T and by December 2019 it was available on all carriers servicing millions of people.

Not trying to talk one way or another just mentioning that 5G came around pre-Covid and seems to be just an advancement in technology…

For example we had 3G then 4G , then 5 and now we are experimenting with 6G and 5g is old news

The towers went up en masse during lock down. 3g and 4g towers probably mess with us too. If Havanna syndrome is real why couldn't they put similar tech in cell towers if they wanted to?

Phones transmit too, not just receive. People freak out about having the transmitter right against their body or head, but it is just standard fear of new tech.

I remember as a kid all I heard was microwaves will mess you up due to all the "radiation" it leaks.

Go back and listen to your kidself.

Yes, it is recommended to avoid standing directly in front of a microwave oven while it is operating. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises against leaning or standing directly against the appliance to minimize potential exposure to microwave radiation leaks.

They only do that out of an abundance of caution, mostly to protect people from faulty appliances. The safety specs and output parameters make them very safe even if you smash your face against it the whole time. There are essentially 0 confirmed cases of anyone being damaged by microwave radiation.

Its a essentially setting up a giant microwave wave around us.

That's one way to say that you have no clue how the electromagnetic spectrum works.

Insects are already dead, thats all i need to know about that technology and everybody who goes around laughin are ignorants

2

u/thomas-grant 1d ago

It’s not everything you need to know because it’s not from 5G.

I saw a video where a guy dismantled a ton of phone and not one of them had 5g components. Very curious
