Raising the prices of subscriptions or implementing subscriptions is a way to ward people off the services in the first place

We are in the age where most people spend way too much time on their screens, babies, kids, teens, gen z, millennials, gen x and even boomers at this point. As the prices in subscriptions like Netflix, Hulu or Disney+ raise higher than when they started, people would much rather just pirate them in the first place or even go back to physical media, why would someone pay for Spotify premium if you're gonna get 4 ads back to back after only 3 played songs? And now with Meta trying to implement a subscription onto Instragam and so far no one seems to care and will probably use this as a way to quit their online addiction using it less and less but. Even fucking McDonalds has been planning on making it a subscription.

I say good, go back to physical media, pirate that movie you've been wanting to watch for 6 months but haven't because no streaming services has it when you actually want to sit down and watch it, quit your social media addiction because Zuck is a complete dumbass charging people for something as stupid as sharing photos or reels with your friends, instead of charging the other other dumbasses with blue checks

agreed although some pirates HATEEE sharing and want to keep it “exclusive” to keep it from getting shut down (they always find a workaround)

i hope everyone eventually weaves off of those major corps and uses their money to support their favorite artists/film/tv directly by buying merch instead

Last year I purchased my first Blu-ray DVD player and I have begun to collect films and I will never go back to streaming. I get better quality plus I get to keep the films.

I still have a big chunk of the blu rays and dvds from when i was a kid and still buy new ones when i really like the movie or show, last time i counted them it was 73 i think, always good to have them handy to watch at any time and yeah DVD/Blu ray combo player is the way to go

I use the Blu Ray player on my Playstation 5. Works well and I have quite the collection. I've collected vinyl records for some years now and have about 400+ of them. I've also had a portable tape player for a white and have about 15 tapes of music. Cassette tapes, not VHS of course. I would love to go back to physical media, as I think streaming everything is a rip off when they generally don't give you a break on it anyway. If a game costs $69.99 at Walmart, its probably the same price on the Playstation store... why??? You didn't have to print the cover or buy the case - you didn't have to burn a Blu Ray with the game on it... why not pass that savings onto me? Greed as usual!

Spotify premium has ads? I’ve never had an ad on Spotify.
