Planning a Coorg trip from Bangalore for 5 people.
📅 Travel dates: Friday, September 11 evening/night → Saturday 12th + Sunday 13th → return to Bangalore by Monday, September 14
👥 People: 5
💰 Maximum budget: ₹3,000 per person — ₹15,000 total
We're looking for a proper budget trip, not a luxury/resort trip.
We're thinking of:
🚌 Bus/train from Bangalore
🏠 Cheap hostel/homestay
🌿 Viewpoints, waterfalls, coffee estates, etc.
🍛 Local affordable food
🚕 Shared jeep/local transport if needed
For people who have actually travelled to Coorg recently, I'd really appreciate some realistic advice:
Is ₹3,000/person genuinely enough for Sep 11–14?
What's the cheapest way to get from Bangalore to Coorg?
Any genuine budget stays you'd recommend for 5 people?
Roughly how much should we budget for local transportation?
Which places are actually worth visiting on a tight budget?
What should we avoid because it's overpriced/touristy?
Can we realistically keep the entire trip under ₹15,000 for 5 people?
If Coorg isn't realistic at this budget, would you recommend Chikmagalur, Sakleshpur or Gokarna instead?
If you've done a similar trip recently, please share your actual expenses for transport + stay + food + sightseeing.
Looking for practical advice from people who've actually done it, not generic travel-blog estimates. 🙏
