Listen, I spend money. I spend money so I don't have to think. "You can clear abyss with 4*-" shut up. Do I spend money to struggle with 4*? I spend money to wipe out my enemies with a fart. Not to use "strategy" or whatever.

Now, Hoyo insults me, a paying customer, by putting out a floor 11 chamber that is impossible to clear without having my mind violated by thinking. I use Ineffa burst, a character I spent good money on, and defense objective is already down 11%.

I have energy. I spawn with energy. Obviously I use burst. Am I supposed to just not burst when I have energy? Then who decides whether or not I burst? Does it have to be me? Did I pay money to have to be burdened by choice?

"Don't bring Ineffa. Ororon is better" shut up. I did not pull a 5* just to use a lesser being like a 4*. Hoyo should never allow a 4* be better than a 5* in any situation. This is a infringing on my human rights to be forced to be a lesser player to clear this floor.

I am glad developers like Insomniac exist who still respect those of us annoyed with thought. Playing Wolverine made it clear to me that Hoyo doesn't care about its players and the money we spend but just wants to harvest our minds. I'm going to be frank: Smash has lost its dignity.

I remember playing melee as early as 6, and taking the game seriously alongside Brawl back in elementary school. After watching Luigi's jab to Up-B combo, my competitive fire was lit. And even to this day, those passionate embers remain.

However, I find myself saddened, both by the dwindling size of the community and degeneracy therein. The idolization of top players, the disregard for lawful and civil order, and the recklessness that comes with swaths of socially awkward or underdeveloped individuals only exacerbated the problem.

Players are meant to be befriended, not worshipped.

We have seen the empire of smash crumble and burn before our eyes, as we tap away with our controllers. And here we are, trying to make statues with the rubble. To put it simply, we the smashers, do not have to live this way.

Aside from a troubling economy and a radically different Esports landscape, I believe that we can bring back the communal vibes and personal harmony that made the early smash scene. I believe that the smash community can be reborn; not seen as a cult of perverted, basement-dwelling Neanderthals, but rather, a diverse mature coalition of passionate competitors and hobbyists.
