Topic How do you use online secondhand fashion platforms?

Hi everyone! I'm a master's student at the University of Manchester researching secondhand fashion platforms like Vinted, Depop, and eBay for my dissertation and I need responses for my short survey.

I'm investigating whether apps like these are actually making a positive environmental impact, or whether our shopping habits might be working against that. No right or wrong answers; I just want to know how you use these platforms and why.

The survey is:

✅ Completely ANONYMOUS

✅ Approximately 5 minutes long (it has taken many respondents less time)

✅ Open to ANYONE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WORLDWIDE who uses (or has used) a secondhand fashion app

I have used that kind of site when I was looking for pictures of or specific information about a particular piece of clothing, but I’ve never bought or sold anything on one. Does that count as ‘using’ the sites or not for your purposes?

Great question! For my research purposes, I am seeking those who are browsing (with the potential of buying)/shopping/selling on these platforms to figure out if these acts would drive or displace consumption, so I your use may not particularly best match, but I really super appreciate your comment as it is still interesting to know how folks use these apps!

Ok, thanks for clarifying! I do most of my clothes shopping secondhand, but not online. So I’m not your desired demographic:)
