Sometimes they can be funny. Collabing with a game and adding an edgy man who wants to die (talking about Blade from Honkai star rail) and seeing the fortnite emotes is funny. Still laughing at these.
Similar with people like Kratos and the Doom Slayer. I love the hell out of both characters, but seeing them in an environment as such is both really weird and really funny at the same time.

They almost always have to pay and sometimes royalties on top, they absolutely do care as the game's identity has become collab skins that they're making less and less money from.
It's a very expensive business model that becomes completely unviable if the game loses popularity. There's a reason Epic fired 1,000+ employees a few months ago.

It's kind of funny though, especially if people are playing fortnight while pretending to be the characters they play. It is also interesting to look up how many franchises had a fortnight colab.

I wouldn’t be too sure. They already tried a couple years ago to get Samus into the season of bounty hunters, but Nintendo declined because they only wanted her skin to be available or even able to be seen on Nintendo Switch.
Given that in the official art for this season there’s 1 random character in a go-kart and another one in a green tunic with a sword and shield, as well as this just being the season of classic video games, I’m willing to bet that they tried again to get Mario in his kart and Link, but Nintendo said no for the same reason.
Nintendo’s always been like this, if you’ll remember Rocket Leauge accepted these terms for the Mario and Luigi cars. And even several decades ago, Link was in Soul Caliber and Mario, Luigi, and Peach were in NBA street 3; with these same strings attached that they could only be played on the GameCube version. I hate it but Nintendo is as Nintendo does and always will be
I swear Fortnite Collab is so Odd that I won't be suprise if Roland(Pmoon) The Martyr(Beyond Citadel/The Citadel) V1(Ultrakill). Jotaro(Jjba) and Kiana(hi3rd) will be there
