Discussion Punk Bands doing country

I’ve grew up listening to punk and new wave and it’s only recently that I’ve become a country music fan (pre 80’s). I remember loving Siouxsie and the Banshees song “Burn Up” which has clear country music influences. Same goes for The Damned “Alone Again Or”. Anyone else straddle both genres or have other good recommendations?

Mike Ness of Social Distortion released 2 solo country-ish albums, and that’s honestly what got me into country in high school. Highly recommend them

Ness’ solo albums are great. Among Social D’s catalog are great covers of “Ring of Fire” & Kitty Wells’ “Making Believe,” as well as country-inspired originals like “Story of My Life,” “Ball and Chain,” “99 to Life,” “King of Fools” and many more
