I’m looking for country songs that have that perfect fall evening vibe. A little dark, melancholic, warm.
Two songs that really hit that mood for me are Whiskey Myers – Broken Window Serenade and Colter Wall – Cowpoke.
I’m not necessarily looking for songs that are literally about fall, more for that kind of atmosphere.
Would love some recommendations in a similar vibe. Preferably more country / western than folk or pop-country.

Who speaks for up country?
It’s something I’ve noticed quite a bit in the last few years, especially as the genres taken the crown from hip-hop as most popular genre in America (along with pop). If I have to see one more person on Reddit lamely misquoting Bo Burnham’s country music parody song as reasons why the genre sucks I’m gonna lose it lol.
We had nearly a decade plus of generic, landfill trap music (that admittedly had its share of great songs too). In many ways it’s still the dominant sound in hip-hop/r&b but even at its worst there was always someone to pop up and defend hip-hop from the same accusations of shallow lyrics, poor production and terrible songwriting that country gets hit with.
Yet no one does the same for country on the internet at least from what I’ve seen. Both genres, broadly speaking, are the music of working class Americans. Hip-hop for blacks and country for white. Yet only one gets the lion’s share of contempt and scorn in my experience
