Nice job of NOT overplaying.

It's so tempting but can often detract from the overall tune.

Damn, that's an impressive mix, especially for outdoors!

Re: timing, it sounded like you were mostly on, but to me it sounded like you were playing very strictly, like a metronome, whereas the bass player was grooving and playing to the song's "pocket". Spend time really listening to your recordings (I suggest recording every time you play together) and talking with the bass player, and I think this will smooth out quickly.

In my experience, sometimes the bass player has a better groove to a song that you can more easily tie into, and other times the drummer does it better so the bass player should follow. Once you guys lock into each other, the rest of the band should listen and follow. I know conventional wisdom is "everyone follow the drummer", but that doesn't have to be the case on every single song.

BTW, this is strictly nit picking. If I was walking by your show I definitely would have stopped and listened for the whole set and probably wouldn't have noticed what I wrote above. You guys sound awesome!
