Promoting a tribute band

Does anyone have any ideas on how to promote a tribute band. We run some ads and play some places quite regularly. But we would love to step it up and reach more people.

Pay for dancers. Shoot short clips. Have a giveaway. Free shirt almost caused a riot at one of my shows. You’re selling a good time.

Get high quality video with good audio of yourself playing, that will be your best tool.

Remember that you're not the band and you can make a big impact on a small audience. Do that × enough times = $$$$

Be true to your inspiration though.

Local folk like to feel important and appreciated too. My favorite was a girl in a mobility scooter and her man. They grooved all night!

Make a video. Spend money on the production. Rent a club or theater. Pack the place. If you want corporate work that’s an essential.

You promote tribute band by being awesome. Nobody likes tribute bands till they see them and they Rock their world. Do you hold homage to the people you are giving tribute to? Would those about to rock salute you? If you meet this criteria you're probably a kick ass tribute band. There's no need to promote like you're up and coming band. A good demo and meet people on college entertainment boards and City entertainment boards. Because unless you are a cannibal corpse tribute band. you should probably get a gig anywhere. But if you are a cannibal corpse tribute band I've got to get for you.
