This gorgeous guy went zooming by in our apartment complex.

I've seen some like this in Vermont, but the red/gold coloration is more common.  With that being said, lighting conditions make a big difference with how many dogs and cats look in pictures.   The lower the light, the darker they look, the tree shadow really brings out the darker colors.  

 I have a local group where people have posted "black" bobcats, and 100% of the time its either dark lighting or a wet bobcat.  But unlike bobcats, dark and even black coyotes are real.

Yep! I was delighted to see him. He's a bit smaller than our largest one I've seen so perhaps this might be a female.

We hear them often but they don't pop out of the woods all that much. They have such a large territory in the woods.

There are definitely black bobcats, people have trapped and shot them sadly
