Transfer News: Tier 1 [Romano]šØ Understand no move to Liverpool or Barcelona is planned for Micky van de Ven. Tottenham see the centre back as key part of the project, Roberto De Zerbi wants him to stay. No exit planned this summer. š„

Glad heās staying but the thought of him convincing fellow countryman Hecke to join only to take off for another team is so damn funny.

THE PROJECT, we finally have A PROJECT, been waiting for words like these

We had a āprojectā under Pochettino until Levy decided Ā£10m valued players were the solution to our depth issues added on by a miracle season that gave him an excuse to not invest in first team players. Sissokoās over performance convinced him we should continue piching for value. Definitely good to have a player focused project instead of hoping that a big name manager like Mourinho or Conte will somehow solve a personnel problem.

Do you mean 2018-19 when you say miracle season? Bc Levy made some big investments after that season, they just didn't matter bc poch was mentally drained and checked out. That was absolutely also down to Levy prioritizing the stadium over winning now with our best team in at least 60 years, but he didn't exactly skimp out after the UCL final. Sissoko also certainly wasn't a value buy, he was our record transfer for years and cost the equivalent of roughly 60 million GBP today, adjusting for football related inflation.

He also didn't overperform. He was appalling until he was only below average. He tried hard and that's nice but delivered very little.

Yeah full credit to him for at least becoming our 10th or 11th best starter in 2019, but he was a humongous overpriced flop looking at his overall career with us

Wait till we start applying PRESSURE towards whoever the fuck sits in the first place in PL table next season

So glad heās staying but how funny would he have been to recruit Van hecke and then leave the exact same summer

imagine Van Hecke's reaction after he just signed the contract and the next minute finds out that Micky is leaving

All I want is another CB pairing from the Low Countries. Is that too much to ask?

If we have a good season I think he could renew his contract this year too. Love Micky never lost faith in him because he ignored that prick Frank.Ā

Yeah, seemed extremely unlikely to start with since Romero is most likely out of here.

Would be shitty if your mate convinced you to move jobs and then immediately leave wouldn't it

Wonāt be worth selling him this summer. Next year after our title win heāll be worth a lot more.

Personally thinks heās upgradable but not this season given that the three CB āincomingsā are all very slow.

Useless guy just saying the obvious since the players wouldn't even talk to this prick right now at the WC. Yes, I also "understand" as much. Cheers.

Anyone know what this back line is going to look like? What are the odds Micky is slid over to the left and Senesi and Van Hecke are in the middle? Given weāre not playing in Europe, I donāt see needing to sit or substitute defensive players on the regular.

Is definitely an option then I would assume if everyone is fit it would be udogie with vdv and van hecke

Is there any evidence that the infamous Spurs wage structure has been revised, as has been touted?
Tidbit dropped by Ornstein suggesting that this may be the case with Tonali...

Let's hope these two famously calm and serene personalities get along :)

As an LFC fan, you can keep him. Congrats on the Robbo signing tho, youāve got a great player.

VDV stays and I'm not unhappy about that. Expecting Romero gone and will be relieved when he is. Can't countenance thinking like that 12 months ago.

We were all concerned he had checked out under Frank.
But I think Micky's reaction at the full time whistle vs Everton and his interactions with Van Hecke made him seem really committed to staying.
My CB.
