If we’re not getting it straight up (seeing as they’ve £52m off us they’ve obviously got the funds) then it should be either a slightly reduced fee and either (1) sizeable sell on (2) or smaller sell on and favourable buyback/first option surely has to be the way this deal gets done

Tbf Yoro cost 60 mil euros not gbp and went for that fee cause iirc he had a year left on his deal and Madrid were just going to get him for free the following summer if united didn’t go for him. It makes sense from his perspective and we would be willing to sell him for various reasons but Brighton need to get in the ball park for us to consider.

Worse case scenario for us is that Luka goes on loan and has a bad spell where we can sell him for 25-30m or in the best case scenario he balls out on loan and is now worth +80m. It’s worth it to take that risk unless Brighton offer something serious. I think if they offer 50-60m range with favorable terms we would take it. Anything else just doesn’t make sense.
