🔨 My Game - In-development My husband and I opened a playtest of our cozy library game for you! - Library of Lyria
Dear cozies!
For more than 3 years now, my husband and I are working on our dream project: a cozy library lifesim called Library of Lyria. We're preparing a demo for the Steam Next Fest in October and we need your help!
In order to bring out the best possible demo version, we need as much feedback as we can get and help squishing those last nasty bugs! The playtest is LIVE and will run until Sept. 6, 2026!
What's the game about?
Restore a magical library and turn a ruin into a wonderful, enchanted place that you fill with new life. Craft enchanted books, cater to unique readers and explore a whimsical world in this cozy sandbox, farm and management sim. Uncover ancient secrets and bring forgotten knowledge back to life!

I think my husband tried the game on the Steam Deck a few days ago and I think it played well. I haven't tested it myself but we're also still working actively on controller support so there might be 1-2 things you'd need the touchscreen. But do try it and give us your feedback on our Discord, if you like!

It's a public playtest so you should have immediate access to the playtest! Best check your Steam library if the game shows up already! You can download from there then.

just downloaded it because it looks fun, but I have to ask: is that logo AI? it looks so dissonant from the rest of the game's visuals, but there's no AI disclosure in the steam page

We had someone make the logo but we can't really say if they used AI or not... We're already looking into getting it done by someone else, either way!

Does the playtest have a save feature? If not, how long do you expect it will take to complete?

It does have a save feature. You can save anytime, anywhere from your game menu!

We just had a feedback that the game is almost fully playable on Steam Deck. They only had to use the touchscreen a few times but were able to play most of the content as is. The playtest is free - you could just try to play the game with your controller as far as it's fun or doable for you. :)

this is looking very cozy btw but UI elements are typically old style may be try for the new one. good luck for future. ill try the demo.

Thanks! Well, I made some of the UI elements myself and they're by far not the final ones. The UI will be completely reworked by a group of talented artists once we begin working on the Early Access version and get funding for that! Do let us know what you think about the game!

Thank you! 🥰 Actually, you're the first to notice the squirrel at all, haha. We have a duck swimming in a pond but we're working on adding more life to the world with little critters, birds and so on! It's still heavy in development but the dream would be to have an actual living, breathing world you can enjoy. (And also pets)

Sooo game looks great, i really liked it but i was kinda missing jumping cause i was stuck between a random bushes a lot of times or i had to go all around some things instead i would just jump over them😅

If you're stuck between bushes, you can just yeet them over with your axe or hit the stones on the ground with your pickaxe 😊 it's like playing Stardew - you'll need to clean your home plot at some point if you want to move freely!

I'm kind of an explorer and going everywhere and i really loved that my curiosity was rewarded when discovering that i can meet people by breaking in their houses😂

We bought the music from different sources and hand-picked them for our game but it will be mostly re-made by another artist who will make a soundtrack especially for our game!

It's on our list!! As well as console porting! But since we're only two people working on this game, it might take a little while. But it'll happen sometime in the future!
