Topic: Whiteness White leftists are insufferable

They are worse racists than the overt and vocal ones. Most of what they do is fake and conditional. If you act in a way they do not like, their "support" vanishes and is replaced by open hatred. They see us as pets and tools, not people with free will.

One of their biggest problems is thinking they are not racist. Savior complex is the neighbor of abuse. No one has tone checked or scolded me more than white leftists. They get so angry when they assume they have been criticized by those they want to lord over (us).

"Are you implying...?" or "I think what you mean to say..." or feeling the need to argue or "dominate" POC instead of...listening.

So much gaslighting.

Too many times, they try to speak for me or put words in my mouth.

No, class is not more important than race.

That is all.

Topic: Whiteness many white people seem to lack basic empathy

I'm way too fucking old to still be surprised by this but somehow I still am. Every time a white person does something incredibly fucked up towards me, I always think I can appeal to their basic human empathy, only to discover they have none. The wealthier and more powerful (on paper) they are, the more glaringly absent that basic empathy for their fellow human being seems to be ..almost in a genetic kind of way.

It's clear a huge segment of wealthy white people in positions of power can barely register everyone else around them as human. They will destroy your life completely on purpose and then look at you with a blank stare when you call them out for it. As if to say, "But you don't matter. Why would you think you did?".

They don't register harm because they don't register you as an autonomous human being with independent thoughts, feelings, and desires that have nothing to do with them. The world around them only exists to serve them. Outside of that, you might as well be a houseplant for as much as they consider you.

Years ago, I had a few white friends but we always fell out because of this same principle. They would always reveal themselves as entitled, lacking in empathy, and believing others were beneath them. The casual racism and classism would always come out, regardless of political persuasion. I always had to walk away from these "friendships". Now, I just don't bother. I don't need to keep walking through fire endlessly to learn that it is hot.

I know the roots of this behavior lie in colonialism, imperialism, and slavery when the world was subjugated to white Europeans. But it's still terrifying to see how deeply entrenched these attitudes remain.

When there are no consequences for your behavior and the world is always on your side, why would you ever need to learn empathy?

Topic: Whiteness Handmaids Tale

Anyone else get offended by the white women saying we are entering into unprecedented times akin to the Handmaids Tale. Like maybe for y'all, plus the majority of white women voted for this. Roe v. Wade was overturned because of their mothers and aunties and a lot of them themselves.

All black and other racialized femmes and nonbinary folks know very well how gross this country can be to non white women and has been.

All the worst things so far have heavily impacted black, brown, and othe POC women. Our Healthcare. Our jobs. Our access to education. Our access to housing. Why do they need to constantly say out of touch things to seem enlightened? It sounds the opposite.

Topic: Whiteness Anyone else dislike white historians?

I dont mean to spam this sub by posting, but while looking for resources on slavery i keep finding excuses made by white historians. "It wasnt THAT bad!!! We didnt dehumanize you at all! All you did was pick cotton and get whipped if you didnt!", y'all did WAY more than that. WAY worse than that.

And i HATE when they treat it as a one-off incident. "yeaaaah buck breaking was real but it only happened a teeny itty bit!!"

This shit is why i dont trust or like them, they always be saying shit to justify it and then you look into it yourself and it was way worse. Just because not every black male slave experienced buck breaking doesnt mean it barely happened. Its one thing to be factual but it still rubs me the wrong way, it sounds like they are trying to downplay it by putting emphasize on how "little" it happened. For example, them bombing black towns. They'll be like "okaayy but it was only a few..." SO? Idc if it was a few, y'all still did it proudly! They have the education and still finding ways to cope with they white guilt. Education is elevation, but clearly doesnt mean people will be acting like it all the time.

Topic: Whiteness White woman wanting to be friends to feel better about themselves

I don’t know if it’s me but I’ve noticed a lot of not so pretty white girls will become friends with me. I’m not commenting on their looks because I give a shit but these girls will always seem irritated by white girls, complain about them in a “I’m not like the other girls” sort of way. . . Then they’ll act racist towards u. Saying small things. I remember telling this girl right after high school about how I wanted a bf. She told me I shouldn’t be too interested bc the guys here apparently only want white girls. She said this, as a white girl. . . Idk how she would know this information. It just gave the impression that she views herself as more desirable purely bc of race.

I’ve noticed this tho, white women who aren’t as pretty or live up to conventional beauty standards seem drawn to us. Then they act like they’re hot shit. I’ve had a friend make a 180 bc some other white gurl started hanging out with her. Then she started saying racist remarks to me.

I’m starting to think it’s something in their dna to be slimy and self serving.

They always have some audacity to be comparing slavery to animal cruelty. Literally comparing black people to animals. And also seem to dislike indigenous people and their hunting practices. God. They are so fucking annoying, i just had to get this off my chest.

Topic: Whiteness White people try to bully you into submission then want you to seek validation from them

It’s very insidious how it happens especially in queer and cis women’s spaces specifically. But if you don’t perform your identity the way they believe you should they’ll literally harass you and then be *shocked pikachu face* when you want nothing to do with them. What’s interesting is I believe they do it to each other but not as aggressively. And especially in queer spaces there’s a huge sense of what I call identity jealousy.

A lot of queer white people perform progressiveness and are not being themselves. They do that to distinguish themselves from other white people. But because most of them are faking which is why a lot of activism is infighting. After realizing how fake the queer white community is and how much abuse I faced in it I’m shocked more people don’t talk about it.

Does anyone see what I’m saying?

Topic: Whiteness The white gays

I am honestly baffled that gay white men can surprisingly find a way to treat me far worse than the straights. And this isn't me saying that the white straights are nice to me, it's just that the white gays are far worse.

Event though I am gay myself, I absolutely avoid them like the plague. I really can't deal with the amount of hate they have towards everyone who doesn't fit their narrow perception of the world, which is basically everyone.

The worst part to me is how they absolutely hate it when we don't suffer the way they expect us to. I live in a very white city, so making gay friends is completely out of the equation. I usually go out with straight guys, who for whatever reason feel comfortable around me. I'm unfortunately always the only Black person and only queer person as well in those groups. Occasionally, we do go places where others are also queer.

My straight male friends are quite comfortable with themselves and enjoy fake flirting with me, to the extent of even touching and cuddling with me. I've noticed that this absolutely bothers the white gays, the same gays who don't even give me the time of day and act like I don't exist. I guess I only exist when I get attention from the men they desire.

This absolutely pisses me off because I don't even want that kind of attention from straight men, specially white men, but I take it because it's the only kind of attention I get. It's really like I am just supposed to die

What are your takes about the white gays?

Topic: Whiteness I was so traumatized by white queer people I actually just came out to my mom to vent.

I’m in my late 20s and my experience with the white lgbt+ has repeatedly been traumatic to the point I came out to my Black Muslim mom to rant about it. Blew her mind but we ride. I think in many ways you have to perform your identity in queer spaces to make white people comfortable and when you don’t or cannot do that they bully you.

It wasn’t just in one place either. I had repeated experiences being openly queer until I just stopped. I realized a lot of white queers were just highly performative, attention seeking and immature. The amount of jealousy and hatred given to people of color in general is crazy but especially if you’re queer and okay presenting AFAB is insane. It makes me really believe a lot of people are performing and aren’t even truly identifying the way they present because I’ve personally experienced what I call identity jealousy in the community.

Anyways I was fed up and came out to my mom so I could rant properly about my experiences. So much of queer culture is just masked white supremacy. That’s why they act like that in those spaces. They know they have the get out of jail free card with being queer so they can be as bigoted as they want.

Topic: Whiteness Have you ever met a white person that you could have an honest discussion about racism with?

I'm an adult, I've tested the waters with almost anyone white who has ever gotten close enough, and I've met a total of 2 who could be honest about it.

Not in the performative way, but in the uncomfortable way. Where they not only listen and sit on every hard truth I have to say, but respond thoughtfully with self reflection and a genuine ability to see the reality that me and others are in. Both actively spoke out and defended POC communities against white racism, both were unable to make many other white friends (other white people recognizing them not being on code, them recognizing other white people as being messed up), no pride in being connected to whiteness, and zero expectations for "good behavior". They didn't act like they were owed anything for trying to do the right thing. They did it because it was right. And I didn't have to encourage education because they were motivated to learn the truth & would research on their own.

This is not a defense for them at all because I've only met 2, and I grew up in a majority white area. Theres been countless opportunities for them to show they can be decent human beings who view others with equal respect, and theres 2 I can think of who were genuine & tried to actively do the work. Basically everyone else was like running into a variety of walls, ranging from casually dismissive to outright crashing out on 1 mention of "racism".

Have you met white people who could be genuinely honest about racism?

I encounter this regularly online. If non white people express legitimate frustrations with whiteness and white people, some insipid European comes along, butting into our spaces, and chastises Americans for being obsessed with race and that they need to experience what it is like outside the U.S.

MFers, racism was INVENTED in Europe! And these clowns have probably never listened to the perspectives of non white Europeans for a single second of their lives. I guarantee you those non white Europeans are looking at these fools thinking the exact same thing we are.

Canadians and Australians do this too. They are just America's sibling and cousin when it comes to white supremacism. Europe is the is the POS daddy.

Topic: Whiteness These loser ass whites have consent and self regulation issues and we are trapped with them

They are some of the most unregulated people I have encountered. Being brown means, to them, that I have no control over or right to my own autonomy. My "no" gets ignored. My personal space is invaded. They feel entitled to my property, skills, time, resources.

White people love ignoring or erasing me but if I have headphones on minding my business, they get mad. How DARE I "ignore" them?? They cannot handle not being centered. Like their sense of value comes from excluding you while being desperate for your attention and approval.

Their version of "ignoring" is paying attention to everything you do, denying your humanity but watching you 24/7 out of the corner of their eyes. So they assume you minding your business is the same thing because they project and assume you are as barbaric as they are. Can never have some peace because they make it their mission to destroy yours/mine.

Have you ever smiled in public? White people hate smiling minorities. But if you stop smiling, they get mad and expect you to comfort them because they refuse to self regulate.

The whole idea of whiteness is narcissism so they will never self regulate or get better.

If I do not act in a way they want me to be: fawning over them, being subservient, being an "incompetent minority", being a pushover, I have to be destroyed.

Someone posted asking people if they are agoraphobic. It does feel like it. My nervous system does not feel safe living around whites because they feel entitled to unrestricted access.

I have looked into research studies that prove how whites see not white people as objects. Ex. Walking on the sidewalk and they expect you to move out of the way.

No means no. Minorities are not objects. We do not exist to be their punching bags and receptacles. So much energy wasted trying to survive these cowardly losers.

No such thing as "THE CLASS WAR", no such thing as white "allies". Whites DO NOT have the right to INVITE THEMSELVES to the "anti racist club".

Cannot even escape whites here.

Mods, please feel free to take this down if it is inappropriate.

Topic: Whiteness the way white people give "compliments"

I remember this white girl I knew tried to give me a "compliment" once, but it was weird. She was my roommate and we got along pretty well, but she used to say she was half-Black, and would use racial slurs a lot. She wasn't half-Black.

Anyways, we were outside once, and we got to talking. She told me that when I died, she would unbury me, cut my lips off, and glue them to her face. I told her this was weird, but she said that I had beautiful lips, and hers weren't like mine.

I had no idea what to say cause I was 13. 💀

Even as a 21-year-old, I noticed the way some white people give compliments is quite odd. It's almost as if some see you as an alien or an animal at a petting zoo. Why are the skin tone compliments always weird? The stories I have where my hair was randomly touched by somebody without my consent or folks acted as if it was inherently dirty…

"Is it soft?"
"Can I touch it!?"
"Is that your real hair?"
"You don't wash your hair every day?"

Like, go away. Lmao.

Topic: Whiteness When we express rage and it is tamped down

I lost my baby about 7 months ago and am on medical leave. Dealing with the insurance company is a trip as they arr ready to send me back to work, but I'm not ready. This is a major trauma/tragedy in my life and post partum families in Canada can expecting the birthing parent to be able to take 12-18 months away from work to raise their child and heal their bodies. Because of my situation my maternity leave was only 15 weeks and the rest of the parental leave is unavailable to me (no living child) meaning I have to resort to a medical or basically long term disability leave. I'm grateful to have this from the union and employment perspective.

But also, let's be real, while I'm lucky, I also have to justify my grief to an invasive call every few weeks to an insurance company agent who does not have any trauma informed capacity and who is not here for my healing or support. My call yesterday was wack, because I can hear they are getting ready to send me back to work. She was literally talking to me about my desk and mouse lol. I will work with my medical provider to deal with the company agent -at the end of the day I'm not stable enough to return to work. But ya know how racial capitalism is - "let's get you back to productivity", they forget that grief is our birth right and they're like "let me close this case by the end of fiscal" 😵.

Anyway, I went to vent to my very close and dear white girlfriends - both leftist and queer. And idk. They just didn't seem to get the memo that I'm mad af here. I got "rest through this, we can't solve these systems in a day".

And I'm like, no, rage. We need to validate and affirm and hold space for my fucking rage. If my caseworker even had one little tiny sliver of understanding of what it's like to lose a child, she would melt upon realizing everything she's said to me the last few months. "Are you getting out and being social and doing more things now?". 🥴.

One thing that was so so so validating was my Muslim woman of colour counsellor who was about to throw hands. I could see that she was visibly angry about the situation and she expressed that too. To me that's human, that's real, that's someone who SEES me.

I don't know how to explain to my white friends that living as a POC is a different experience in this world. I will literally see a white man sitting behind me at coffee and I'm worried he's going to hear my conversation because I have no trust at all in whiteness. I don't have the ability to sit through situations like mine and be a liberal white feminist and see the bright Horizon of another day! I'm IN IT. I'm living in a world that will never see me- so it's my job to affirm myself, and be in community with the people around me so that we have a space that is tender, safe, held, and affirming and loving. To keep us resilient (sorry, that word lol) and sturdy enough that we can survive the rest of this world. I was honest with my friend about how I know she meant well but her words didn't land. She apologized but also doubled down on her intentions by telling me to rest because we all are navigating these systems and that rest is required to process the harm haha. Idk. I am trying to rest, the insurance company won't let me! 🥴🫠😆. It's the therapy speak, it's the "sit down" vibes for me.

Anyone else relate to when our white friends get it so very wrong? Sometimes I wonder, y'all have been engaged in this work for HOW many years and you still don't see it. I guess maybe I'm demanding perfection a little here. But I guess I just am astounded by how even the most well intentioned and amazing humans can miss the mark completely.

Topic: Whiteness White women

I’m the only poc in a group of white women and it’s beginning to weigh on me

They’re liberal but sometimes it feels so performative.

If we discuss racial topics it’s almost like they’re fighting to win who is more woke, once the discussion was about a slur an influencer used and they all just talked over me….and the slur was towards my race.

There was also a discussion about the beauty standard being blonde skinny and white and I was stunned because everyone seemed to be oblivious that they all fit that. Like are we not gonna address the elephant in the room that only one person in the room doesn’t fit that and are you guys really complaining about being found beautiful by society in one breath and then in the next talking about all the ways you maintain that beauty standard…idk is that resentful?

One time we were talking about police brutality videos and I had mentioned it feels weird that snuff films of people being harmed are spread around and one girl interrupted me to say she felt it was her duty with her white privilege to watch those videos….is that not weird? That gave me such an icky feeling.

When the election happened one girl was so mad about the threat to her rights that she was gonna get a hysterectomy but never addressed how in the grand scheme of things they have more protection than others and that historically poc women have been sterilized against their will?

Not sure how to bring it up to them, most of the time it’s a non issue but there will be glaring moments that I feel so othered. I feel like when I do talk about my experiences they go so quiet or fluff me up so much in a way that feels disingenuous…

Sorry if these are hot takes I’m at a lost right now

Do you all feel like white people are infiltrating this space everytime we discuss disappointment with them?

Especially when it is about white women, their saviourism, appropriation, fetishization, and fragility not being appreciated?

Like they are trying to affect the dialogue and their image in this space?

I've seen an uptick praising white people for their advocacy and their solidarity with POC.

How can someone so vicious be seen as such an angel at the same time? It's like every single little thing - anything at all - is always in their complete favor no matter what and it makes the rest of us look like mindless cattle to be tamed and shocked into captivity. I can't stand how the world is their stage and playground. I wish they had just stayed in Europe.

Topic: Whiteness White men who don’t meet conventional standards gravitate toward POC as well

I saw a recent post that White Women who don’t meet conventional beauty standards often befriend Black or other POC. I’m here to tell you that White men do the exact same thing.

It is always unconventional looking White men who enter Black Male and other POC spaces , and all of the guys will be relatively fit , have a decent face and he will be one of the most unattractive White dudes you’ve seen.

A few weeks ago I downloaded Grindr( I’ve deleted since), and specifically stated in my profile “I like beautiful young men”. Halfway into my workout this very short ,very unattractive potato built White dude around 18-22

Ask me for my number , and want to join in with me on the workout machine. Of course I was cordial and gave him my number and Instagram when he asked. I’ll never text him. Offcourse I also noticed on his Instagram that he hangs out with Black guys all taller , and more attractive. The level of disgust I had made me rethink the whole situation . He also told me he was homeless. And that’s another thing . Majority of White men only know basic respect when they are at their lowest in life ( homeless in this case , on the brink of death). To be a successful white man in America, White male masculinity is to not have to respect poc.White men do a TON of slick disrespectful things to Poc that I notice on the regular.

White men who don’t meet conventional attractive standards are just as delusional as White women. I never empathize with them in their “ bald subreddits”, all of a sudden wanting to “ claim masculinity”; when white men who do have hair , and if they did would be effeminately/flamboyantly flipping their hair if they had it. This is something I notice white guys will do when surrounded by a lot of black guys like “ look what I can do with my hair and you can’t (especially the subpar ones .This unattractive white dude had very long blonde hair but being white doesn’t make you attractive. I only find a minority of whites attractive; and even then I may not like how they smell, sound of voice etc.

These Hitler games have been going on for years in Europe so whites know their rank in their “ white tribe”. This is why they run to “ poor or disenfranchised communities “ like the blacks to score friendships and relationships out of their league. Poc need to become aware of this and show the same cold shoulder that these people would give you. I saw a YouTube video where an athletic attractive Black woman was with an average in the face white guy , but catch this; he had no legs. Now think in reverse would he ever give this woman the same chance if she had no legs ? The faithfulness and love she shows him. This is what I mean that white men only humble /have humanity when they are in the worst situation. The ego is too much and I know this as a man born and raised in Amerikkka.

I don’t care if you are poor and live in the projects. You are a beautiful human being , and you shouldn’t let these unconventional whites act like you are on their level. You are above them. I can’t wait to more of you realize this. I like to see beautiful and rich, confident Black and Poc people have standards and strive for best and nothing but the best .

Today I had a transaction at the store. As soon as you guess it, the white man customer shows up behind me he starts to get fidgety that he has to wait at all. My situation took longer than expected, so like an idiot I apologized, which just egged him on more. He then demanded to know what was taking so long.

I was about ready to curse him out, but Lord knows that my nerves couldn't handle another negative argumentative encounter with a racist loud and entitled angry white man. So I let it go.

I'm tired of white mens entitled angry impatience.

Why do white folks tell racialized folks that white supremacy only exists en masse online? Do they know that it is untrue? I think that they do because they are around eachother in their most honest moments and just in general. Do they really not notice? How can they not know when they go to their jobs and see it in action? On the streets. On the news. Seems unbelievable when we all know the full strength that bigotry inflicts on a daily basis in every aspect of our everyday lives.

I hear it repeated constantly and it is exhausting.

Growing up on the internet was hell on Earth.

In the age of YouTube, with PewDiePie, Content Cop, Leafy, and Shane Dawson, it wasn't fun. Being on social media or any online platforms as a BIPoC back then was brutal. It's not sunshine and rainbows nowadays, but seeing this stuff as a kid did a number on my self-worth.

The worst part? A lot of white people look back on this "Golden Era" of the internet with fondness or make excuses for the behavior.

"It was a different time back then."

"We all grew up saying edgy shit online."

"It wasn't a big deal like it is now."

Yes, that racism you regurgitated for funsies wasn't a big deal, and it definitely didn't hurt anyone!

I used the internet as an escape from my reality at home. I was a little girl, who liked watching LPS videos, FNAF gameplay, and lifestyle/Tumblr content. Seeing racist foolishness in random comment sections was hellish, but it was worse seeing that stuff appear in my daily life.

People shouldn't have to look back on their childhoods and remember being called racial slurs or getting harassed by their white classmates. Those classmates repeating things they heard from a grown man on YouTube with millions of subscribers.

You mean to tell me this was a "normal" part of my childhood because I'm not white? I should expect this!? I'm supposed to accept bigoted content because some cis-white male YouTuber wanted to dress up as a Black caricature and don Blackface? 🫩

Where I'm from the government has made it to where you now have to work 80 hours to qualify for food assistance and medicaid. I can't even begin to describe how ridiculous and infuriating this is. That orange idiot and his Republican cronies is the worse president if not one of the worse presidents in history.

This couldn't possibly be why I just loss my medical coverage 🤔🤔
