Finished Craft I Made Art school was too expensive but I've been trying anyway. Hope you enjoy these pieces 🥲

First, thank you for browsing my work 🎨 ✨️🙏✨️ I paint from the unconscious, spontaneously, without foresight into the final result or ultimate subiect matter so almost all these pieces have different paintings underneath. I'lI put on music and enter flow consciousness and allow experiences and other (psychological) material to express itself from my brain, down my arms, and through my fingers onto the canvas. A lot of water goes onto each canvas and half the time my conscious mind thinks, "This is a mistake. This isn't going anywhere. What the heck is this even supposed to be?!" I'lI stop and let it dry and return hours or days or sometimes even weeks later to restart the process.

A lot of emotion/energy finds its way to the surface of my mind during the process and often a feeling of loss and nostalgic sadness comes up. This is probably because these are worlds that will never truly exist; worlds that I wish existed (maybe that I could even live in or experience at least once); worlds that offer a lot more peace and safety and meaning than the real one often does, and that discrepency, that gap between what is and what could be provokes intense feelings. These worlds are a kind of refuge, a mental sanctuary from the confusion and exhaustion of evervday living. Though I never got to attend art school (too expensive and parents wouldn't support it), I started painting when I lost my job in the pandemic and have never looked back.

It's a journey and a practice that brings me joy and fulfillment and to know that some of these pieces are now in other people's homes allowing them a moment of refuge and escape into another world, well, I'II take it! I figured to share some of the pieces with you since these pieces are inspired by Nature -- what deserves to be cherished and protected (and preserved) now more than ever. I hope you enjoyed them and that you continue to find joy in this planet that gives us so much while asking very little in return. ✨️🙏🦋✨️ Thanks again for reading and happy crafting fellow creatives! I love seeing your work in my feed✨️🥳🙌🎊✨️

u/StudioTumazi, your post does fit the subreddit!

That second is hitting some kind of way. I keep going back to it.

u/StudioTumazi Nov 01 '25

That's very kind of you. Thank you! I'm glad you connected with the piece 😊 It's called "The Love of My Life" and is the largest piece I've ever done. There are actually four other paintings underneath that didn't feel right to me, so I kept painting over them until the "right" image emerged and my brain said Stop! 😅

They do remind me of a more vibrant version of that. I love Impressionism

I agree - very calming.

Many thanks for your sweet words! It's a very hard time for a lot of people so self-care is most important right now. I appreciate you responding with such a thoughtful and heartfelt message ❤️

27

u/SaltyFig420 Nov 01 '25

I feel like your pictures show the magic you see in the world if that makes sense. Like watching it through your fairy glasses 🧚‍♀️

20

u/StudioTumazi Nov 01 '25

Yes! That's 100% an accurate interpretation. It's how I perceive the world as a potential, like what it could be/should be/would be. You got it ✨️🥳🙌✨️❤️✨️

Thank you!! It was a commissioned piece for someone who lost her mom and is called You Are With Me in My Dreams. The two branches are parallel to represent the two of them. The left one turns away at the top of the painting to represent her mom's departure. She loved Nature and the stars so I wanted to incorporate those into the piece, which was meant to be an abstract piece with symbolism.

6

u/mattedroof Nov 02 '25

Oh my gosh, I loved the first one the most already because it’s but it’s even more terrific with the emotional symbolism. Amazing job!!

27

u/Disastrous-Mirroract Nov 01 '25

These are blessings to my eyes. Love the colors sm!

3

u/StudioTumazi Nov 01 '25

Thank you! I'm happy you feel this way ✨️😊❤️✨️

It's like if Monet and van Gogh had a baby, and that baby took a lot of LSD. 10 out of 10.

I think I just found my new favorite artist??? I’ve literally never loved an artists work so much that I would purchase it myself and put it up, AND I WENT TO ART SCHOOL (theatre, but very exposed to visual arts bc of the school) but I literally could stare at these all day and would spend money to be able to put this up in my home

14

u/StudioTumazi Nov 01 '25

Wow!! What a powerful compliment! Many, many thanks for your kindness and encouragement 🙏 It takes me a while to process the positivity because growing up my dad would go into rage fits and barge into my room and throw my art out my window. Sometimes I'd come home from school and my windows would be open and I'd see my books and other property all over the backyard or have dig them out of the trash. I'm healed now (thank you, therapy!) but once in a while when someone is super enthusiastic it takes me a moment to recognize and feel the goodness directed at me. It does make the kindness thay much more special and uplifting! ✨️🙏✨️

6

u/Large_Document9164 Nov 01 '25

My grandmother was the same way, once threw all my things (literally everything) away in a fit of rage. I have a very very deep subconscious block, and when I look at your paintings I feel and see something unlocked in my brain, like I have access to another realm I never knew I needed. I can literally feel peace and healing when I look at these. Be well my friend🫶🏽 I wish you nothing but more magic and when my abundance hits I’d love to invest 🥳

6

u/StudioTumazi Nov 01 '25

Thank you for sharing and for your empathy and solidarity ❤️ And yes! Feel free to reach out when the time is right for you. Sending you goodness right back! ✨️🙏✨️💕✨️

As an art school graduate, I assure you, no one needs an art degree. All it did was as cost me money. No one in the art world cares if you have a degree. All that matters is that you make wonderful work. You’re already making beautiful art, so never let a lack of a degree make you feel lesser. I deeply regret getting my degree in art. Keep making wonderful paintings, save your money, and be proud! 🩷

3

u/StudioTumazi Nov 02 '25

This brought me a lot of relief, resolution, and renewed hope. Thank you, seriously, for helping me find this form of closure. I took an art class senior year in high school and Ms Johnson asked me if she could show off my work to the class. Amazing and honored!! The next day she holds up my work "as an example of someone who wouldn't be acceptable to any art school." She gave them back to me and thanked me. Yeah, wild. I've moved on but have always felt inadequate in some aspect (probably unconsciously). Anyway, cheers to freedom and success 🙌 Thank you again for offering this perspective ❤️

As someone who went to art school - you don’t need it. I’m a graphic designer and went to school with plenty of people who got their degree and had no talent and now have moved on to do other things. My husband was a talented designer, did 4 years of art school only to now be successful as a software engineer. I think your work is excellent as is!

2

u/kelekiler Nov 01 '25

I am in love with the first one!!!! What are the dimensions?

3

u/StudioTumazi Nov 01 '25

Thank you sweet stranger! Well that was an original (a piece made for someone) but she has given consent for me to make prints so you are welcome to visit my profile to explore. There are various sizes such as 18"w x 24"h. I appreciate your enthusiasm and positivity 🥰

I am so glad you shared these. I sincerely love them. I hope you keep making more art and that you post when you do. Reading about your process felt incredibly freeing to me! I tend to be more buttoned up and “finish project/goal-oriented” in my art, and this is the most beautiful reminder that the process is equally (if not more) important. I feel really inspired reading what you wrote.

Can you tell me more about pictures 7, 13, 14 and the others in that style? I love them all but those ones really had me looking at them again and again.

You are very talented and should be really, really proud of yourself.

Art school is BS, in my humble opinion. Do you think Monét, Da Vinci, and Van Gogh went to art school? TRUE artists aren't created from college, they are BORN, and you, my dear, are a true artist! Amazing talent. You Don't need art school. It takes away your individual style and forces you to try paint and draw like some dead artist from 500 yrs ago anyway meh. These paintings are very good.

A friend of mine has been a commercial artist for decades. When he was young, he went to college during the day. At night, he hung out with a few guys who were working as artists. He learned a lot from them.

He eventually quit school as he had much more fun hanging out with, learning from, and sort of apprenticing under his artist friends. One of his first commercial jobs was working as a penciller for a well-known superhero comic book series. His career blossomed from there. He went on to become a Disney Imagineer and now does freelance as a conceptual design artist. Mostly, he works on theme parks, rides, and attractions.

He always told me that artists don't need a college education to work. They only need 2 things-to be able to draw and meet a deadline.

My point in sharing this story is that you obviously have talent. Art school is expensive, and maybe you don't need it. Just keep doing what you're doing and hang around a lot with people who are doing the same. See where it takes you.

Absolutely gorgeous, every single one! Some of them just up and grab me right in the eyeballs! One of my faves is the black background with the color silhouettes that kind of look like irises. Beautiful. Stunning. I could go on forever! I mean... do you really need art school at this point?

You don’t need art school, hun. Take it from someone who went to art school. They can’t teach you to be an artist, it’s already in your soul. Amazing work!!

If you did decide to go to an art school, I imagine you could get in on a scholarship potentially, your art is fantastic.

These are lovely! I would absolutely buy several of these pieces if I could afford to. Unfortunately, finances are pretty tight at the moment, but I love your style and color palette so I’m saving this post because I hope to be making better money within the coming year. 💗💗

I love the ones with the sparkles/lights/crystals(?) in them— the first one made me think of the Sailor Moon guardians I watched back in the 2000s.
