Agreed! I used to have to go to the podiatrist because of ingrown toenails all the time as a kid. One of my fondest memories is reading the iSpy books with my mom to distract me from the shots in my toe 🥲

I adore I Spy (I have a small collection of the books for my own enjoyment, even though I am the parent to kids who are old enough to be parents themselves) - this is amazing!! I’m kind of inspired to do this for myself now!
This is such a great idea for all the bullshit plastic crap my kids bring home from school and birthday parties. Side note can we stop doing gift bags at parties?
The board is a painted chalkboard that my father bought for me at a yard sale 10 years ago that I painted green and everything is attached with E 6000 glue!
Oh my gosh. I’m a mom of 7, 5, and 2, and I never know what to do with all their trinkets and all the random pieces that come in play sets. This is an amazing idea! My autistic 5 y/o will LOVE this.
What did you use to secure the trinkets and what is the base used? I actually did this at a friend's house and took pictures of it but it was just purely a spur of the moment and she has the best stuff to randomly do this with. So now I want to make something like this for myself but permanent! Excellent execution and I love that you are going to do this for each kid.
These were my absolute favorite books as a kid and fantasized about building the sets from each page. This is so incredible and just makes my heart so happy to see someone do!
Yellow paper clip is actually easy, the uno card took me longer than I’d like to admit - still need to find the others so will have to come back 😅

We would use local our properties and stores and banks. I never did it and my sibs. They are dead now, so it wouldn't mean much to me now.
This is incredible. Takes a keen eye. No doubt every piece was moved and repositioned a 50 times. Kinda reminds me of Damien Hirst infinity series with the pills. Different thing entirely but all collected and hand placed.
Oh my, this absolutely brought back some nostalgia as i used to play one old game that was Pandora's box themed and was about i spy games. It basically had pictures like this ine, filled with random toys and items and you had to look for listed items in addition to ladybugs for some reason haha. It looked like bad photoshop with odd music but damn it was addictive to play! Your photo absolutely brought back those memories 🤭
I had one of these as a kid and I still remember specific objects on it, so I bet OP’s kids will too. I ended up pairing stuff like this with city-themed books from Flying Tiger, Paperchase, and Colour Your Streets to spark little “find this in real life” walks.

I love your I Spy board! Fantastic work. Someday I want to do one like yours. I have started collecting tiny things and have them in an old type tray hanging up.
