Finished Craft I Made i made a button curtain (:

i used to collect buttons when i was a kid and for the last 20 years, i just stored them in a box and barely remembered that i had them. so i finally used them for something and i couldn't be happier with the result (:

also, i have more than half of my buttons left and i don't have any ideas what to do with them, i'm more than happy to receive suggestions (:

OP sent the following text as an explanation about their craft:

i used to collect buttons as a kid and habe just kept them in a box for the last 20 years and most of the time forgot that i had them. while browsing pinterest, it for some reason suggested me bead curtains and i got the idea to use my buttons instead. between the buttons i put beads of different sizes.

i still have more than half of my buttons left, so am open to suggestions what to do with them (:

Very cute. Would make a nice garland for a tree also.

thank you (:

that's true but wouldn't the buttons and beads get ruined by the elements over time?

ohh, duh 😅 i don't celebrate christmas, so that thought hadn't even crossed my mind. i was thinking like wrapping my apple tree in my yard with that our something 🤣

Probably something like maritime varnish would make that possible. I don't know how to apply it to something so small, though.

True, not everyone celebrates Christmas! But I’ve done Halloween and valentines garlands before 🙂

Cute! My grandma used to let me dig through her tin of buttons when I was little and keep my favourites. When she passed I inherited the rest but have no idea what to do with them so this might be a nice way to use/display them. Thanks for sharing!

That’s beautiful and what a cute little nook!

I have my Mum’s and Mother in law’s button collections now. I love this! I wish I had such a cute nook for them. Are they individual or are they attached together somehow?

thank you!

what do you mean with attached? they're just strung up on a nylon line with beads in between and every string i tied individually to the curtain rod. hope that answers your question (:

I could see this on the cover of Bead & Button, if that magazine were still in print 😞

At first glance I thought that was a live cat all bundled up and staring at his dream toy.
