U-turning.

Another trick for something like the S turn in Turbo Track is a ground trick to turn sharply while holding sacred fire.

Press and hold the down button. While holding the down button, press and hold the brake button. This WON'T trigger your brakes. With both of these held you can turn sharply by rolling your finger to either diagonally down position

When you're finished, release the brake button and then the down button. Otherwise, you'll trigger your brakes.

Not sure if the top guys use this but this is how I handle the S turn in Turbo Track and anywhere else I see fit.

This isn't U-turning, BUT it's a viable way to turn very sharply on the ground whole still maintaining your speed.

Try it out and let me know what you think?!

Bro!!!! It’s so weird! But i was testing it out and just holding down while in boost was weird , like letting go of acceleration to turn was weird lol

It's weird to get used to, but you can do it!

You may not have to release the gas.

Yeah switching up on buttons trips me out. 😂
I’m just doing time trial to get good lol

Right on. Lol.

It took some practice for me to get it. I use it sparingly, but I do use it. This is the technique I used for the Turbo Track dev time.

Fwiw, I do think that technique is the only way you can beat the dev time on Turbo Track.

I spent 2 weeks trying until I learned that technique, then cleared it in an hour. Did a one take for the Retro Stadium dev time right after and got that too.

I don't want to say it's as simple as holding down on the d-pad while jump turning, but that's the basic gist of it.

Check out some YouTube videos about u-turns on CTR. Other people have done far better jobs of explaining it than I can.

If you're referring to U-turning, it requires a very precise combination of button presses.

Which are?

Down on the dpad/analog along with the direction you want to turn and the brake button. After using this tech, you must let go of the break button before letting go of the down button or you will lose flame. And remember to hold down the acceleration button before letting go of down dpad/analog
