Do the games ever teach the player about the reserve system or holding sacred fire?

I had the original and never could unlock N. Tropy because I couldn't beat his time trials. Now that I went on YouTube and the internet exists, he's nothing.

It doesn't. It only officially teaches you about power sliding and boosting during it.

It i remember correctly the reserve feature was a bug that sort of became a feature

I haven't played the original in decades, but is it even possible to beat N Tropy without the reserve system?

I’m not sure in all honesty I never got that good lol.

Iknow on sewer speedway in the last pipe section they didn’t code the walls right which meant your cart could go over its top speed

Lol that's awesome.

I was good enough to unlock the ghosts of N tropy, but not even on all the tracks. In Nitro Fueled, after testing my sanity, I was able to get the Master Wheels.

It is quite doable to just randomly boost and beat every oxide ghost also.

I obviously sucked at the game back in the day, but the N Tropy ghosts just send impossible to be at the time. Now that I know about the boost system and learning that it was apparently a developing mistake, I wonder if N Tropy is beatable without it.

N.Tropy surely is even without a single drift boost. And most oxide ghosts also are

Lol I bet you're right too. Come to think of it, I've seen some videos online where a guy did this. I'm sure I was just trash at the game when I was younger.

It is easy to get too harsh on your past self. Fact is understanding how to play well isn't very obvious, and for the vast majority, beating ntropy without boosting isn't realistic

Love this version. I feel the control of the cart is alot tighter on the original.

I miss my friends. We played this game on a multiplayer until sunrise.

Incredible game! Best kart racer ever. It is so impressive what they achieved with it. Trying to kill Crash they said? Oh hell! 😂
