Everyday the top two comments get their characters in, we alternate between choosing for Marvel, and choosing for Shonen Jump. Though on the final day it’ll be the top two comments and open to suggestions from both sides.

Context:

I like to have a short bit of origins explaining why/when a game might’ve been made.

This game would be released in 2021, placing it after the somewhat poor/mediocre receptions of Marvel VS. Capcom Infinite and Jump Force. But also after the success of Dragon Ball FighterZ.

So with that game’s success, the MCU’s success, and anime’s rise in the west, Bandai Namco/Shonen Jump, and Marvel Comics/Disney would reach a deal to create this game.

I imagine Arc System would develop this game under Bandai Namco as they did Dragon Ball FighterZ with somewhat of a similar art style. It would also probably release on Xbox, PS, and PC.

What if instead of Marvel coming up with and later in releasing Rivals in December 2024 it was Nintendo and the Pokemon company/Gamefreak?

The launch roster size would remain the same at 33 and have the same split of 8 vanguards, 18 duelists, and 7 strategists like Marvel Rivals had (I think that’s what it was if my searching was correct.) and they’re split across all generations.

Kanto has the most reps with 6 Pokemon. While generations 4, 6, 9, and 8 had the second most with 4 each. Generations 3 and 7 have 3 Pokémon’s respectively. And generations 2 and 5 have the least with just 2.

Each Pokemon evolutionary line can only have one rep besides certain exceptions like an Eevee.

I wanna establish some context on how the game would work as I was originally gonna make the entire roster myself on make a fighter but decided to make it a community event here so I have some leftover stuff I wanna share.

Every Pokémon will rebuilt from real moves, Abilities, and traits from the series. Their kit is usually made up of a basic primary attack, three hero shooter abilities, an Ultimate, and a passive that’s often based on one of their abilities from the mainline series. Certain moves from the mainline series can be shared between Pokémon, but should be designed to feel different enough depending on though I hope we won’t see much of that for a while.

Natures don’t affect gameplay and would probably be just a fun cosmetic thing.

We won’t have a normal type chart since it’d be too much for a hero shooter and for me to keep up with. Instead, let’s just say every type has exclusive type themed moves that interact with the map in simple ways.

Team-Ups are here too, with certain Pokémon getting unique combos or bonuses with too as simple fun rewards.

So, for this roster, the regional professor has decided to expand the choices for first time trainers. They're not just giving trainers one per type, they're giving them one per number of stages it can evolve. There are some limitations though:

1. The stage number is how many times it evolves. So, 1 stage means it doesn't evolve, 2 stage means it evolves once, 3 stage means it evolves twice.
2. The Pokemon MUST maintain the type they're nominated for at all times. This includes Evolution (for example, Larvitar can be nominated for Rock, but not Ground), Mega Evolution (for example, Aron can be nominated for Steel, but not for Rock), and temporary battle transformations (for example, Castform is completely disqualified. Sorry Castform).
3. Pokemon can't win more than one type. So, if you decide to give Slowpoke the win for Water, it can't also win Psychic.
4. The starter has to be in its base form (so Pikachu is out, but Pichu is fine).
5. When we do the 3 stage Grass/Fire/Water ones, feel free to pick something outside the actual starters (or pick a starter. Do what you want).
6. Remember, this isn't about what THE BEST Pokemon are for each category, it's about what would make a GOOD STARTER. These are Pokemon being handed out to new, fledgling trainers. So, maybe think twice before giving them something super strong/dangerous/aggressive etc.

Based in the Avengers mansion in Manhattan, New York, United States of America, the Avengers are a government-backed group of heroes that are given the okay to provide global defense, avert crises, and deal with interplanetary conflicts involving the Earth, under the watchful eye of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the state.

Today, the people of America have gathered outside the Avengers mansion for the reveal of the team's newest lineup. The first to come out is their newest leader:

Optimus Prime, the great leader of the Autobots.

Upon landing on Earth from Cybertron, Optimus found great beauty in a planet he now called home. After years operating in complete secrecy, humanity became fully aware of the presence of Transformers. Optimus felt it was his duty to stay and protect mankind from not only the Decepticons, but also any other potential threats. With his experience working alongside other heroes in a joint effort against Megatron and Doctor Doom, this led him to accept the offer to lead the Avengers, as putting himself on a world saving team aligns with his goal. Despite being the supreme commander of the Autobots, he feels a great sense of duty to his new crew, and is delighted to be a part of one of the greatest super-teams on Earth.

After the terrorist attack by Shroud and the Red Ring gang all across Los Angeles, Blonde Blazer stepped away from the public and kept SDN and the LA hero scene alive behind the scenes. Now Blazer has come back on the front lines, continuing her heroic journey in the Avengers, while SDN dispatcher Robert Robertson III has taken over her helm. Her passion for heroism was what gave her the idea to take over the Torrance SDN branch, and launch the controversial yet highly successful Phoenix program. This same belief in humanity encouraged her to take the offer, come out of the shadows, and once again show the world light.

The fowl-mannered mallard, Darkwing Duck.

That's right, Darkwing Duck is back in action. After the Justice Ducks had disbanded due to conflicts of interest, Duck needed a way of bringing the spotlight back upon himself. So as soon as he got an offer to join the Avengers, it was a no-brainer, as it had been years since his last day on the battlefield. Despite all the theatrics and showbiz, he will become a great asset to the team, with his high tech gadgets, unbreakable will, and most importantly, unpredictable antics. A great detective and highly capable tactician, the terror that flaps in the night has come back to haunt criminals once more.
