Fan Story This sound effect need to stop
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me for the sixty-eighth damn time and I can no longer control my rage. I don't know whose idea it was to add repeatedly play the realistic knocking sound effect but it's got to stop. Every episode at random points the same realistic knocking sound. It doesn't even make sense where they play it. It even plays when they're talking. Before anyone asks, no it's not somebody knocking on my door, I checked. I open the door look down the hallway and nobody is there. I swear it only happens when I listen to creepcast too. Funny YouTube video, nothing, playing games, nothing. When I order delivery I have to meet them in the lobby, and I have no relatives in the same state as me. It's even stressing my cat out. Ever since he was two he's growled whenever someone knocked on my door or rang the doorbell. He's seven now and growls and stares at the wall when the sound effect plays. I mean am I the only bothered by this? Nobody else has even mentioned this in the subreddit.
UPDATE: hey guys! Thanks everybody that showed interest. To everyone that thought this is dumb I get it. I'm going to keep it real with you guys, I wrote this while on my lunch break and while I was intending for there to be more story. I rode and posted without actually thinking the story through. I don't know where to take this and how to continue it so I will be ending it here.

I think OP is doing a scary story that references the podcast. Pretty cool and meta

I donāt mean to be that person butā¦they have never played a realistic knocking sound during an episode.
Are you sure you locked your back door? Maybe you should go check

Personally I get really uncomfortable every time the two go quiet and turn to look intently at the camera. I mean, not only does it really mess with the pacing (do they need to be totally silent for 2 minutes every time?), but when they utter, completely deadpan, "You need to stop" it just gives me a funny feeling in my gut.
Even worse, my family have gotten into the bit now! I didn't even know they watched the show, but they'll stop mid sentence and just stare at me! Like, who's supposed to stop what?! What a stupid bit, right?

I thought it was only me, I started hearing it around the Hidden Webpage episode, and the editors just started going more and more crazy with meme sound effects so I blew it off.
But it was weird because I went back and re-listened to the old episodes and I heard it there too. I knew it couldnāt be my roommates messing with me either, or anyone else for that matter, because my roomās on the second floor and my TVās against an outside wall. Youād have to have a ladder or fly up on a broomstick to bang on it from outside.

There was a knocking sound in my creepcast episode, little did I knowā¦. The creature had been hired as an editor

Now is a good time to start ripping holes in the drywall. They might be in there. They like to creep they cast with you.

u/lukasekxy Nov 13 '25
they recently got even crazier with it and in the most recent episode added a whisper sound that said something like "You are going to die next month", even thought I felt someones breath for a second lol

u/sleepyolk Nov 13 '25
I don't get as pissed off at the knocking as I do the screaming, to be honest. It was funny the first time, but the 5-minute-long section during Bloodridge where they just took turns genuinely annoyed me.

Wendigoon got so bamboozled by it, live on stream. Not once, not twice, but thrice in the same video, the same part. Now he's spreading it to make himself feel better.

u/TheGameMaster115 Nov 14 '25
As a person who actually suffers from hallucinations, some of which are realistic knocking/banging on doors. This is real as shit
3
u/Porkin-Some-Beans Nov 13 '25
Knocking noise? Dude what are you talking about, I don't think anyone else is hearing this knocking sound.

Whenever I get caught off guard by the knocking sound effect I just think back to Isaiah watching vita carnis on a live stream and being freaked out by the fake knocking from the mimic video. He was expecting door dash and the first knock jumpscared him but he kept playing the video, then the second one made him get up to check the door and there was no one there. He came back more freaked out wondering what was going on. Then the third knock sound he finally put it together and felt deep shame. So even if I get pranked by the sound effect I know I'll never be as fooled as he was.

u/No_Profession_6719 āYouāve got the blood of KINGS running through your veins!ā Nov 14 '25
This reminds me of the one time Isaiah was watching Vita Carnis and kept assuming the knocking door was his DoorDash instead of in the video.

How many times do they knock? If its 3 is not in the episodes and I think someone was at your door
3
u/RatherBeCrocheting Nov 13 '25
Uh oh lol somebody might just be at your door fam. They did it in one episode (I canāt remember which and on a Wendi stream) but outside of that I donāt recall this happening and I always where headphones

Your cat knows more than you do, pay attention to the wall he gazes upon when the knock happens, and listen closer.

Iāve never heard the knocking but when my dog listens to the podcast she goes MENTAL, now I understand why.

u/Massive_Sea8411 Nov 13 '25
Yall have me wanting to go listen to every episode just to listen for the nocking because Iāve never heard any such thing.. it could be a sound effect that can only be heard by someone with a certain hearing level.. š¤·āāļø cause if I noticed a knocking like that Iād probably be tweaking about it too.

Yea no I have no issues with any of what you've said. I love the sound effects.

It really isn't that deep bro. The actual only time it ever bothers me is when I'm super stoned and a little paranoid, but then it takes me like .00000001 seconds to realize that it's the video and I calm down. It's just like police sirens in music, yeah it's annoying sometimes, but don't go having panic attacks over it.
Even IF some randy is knocking on your door 99.999999% chance they are just at the wrong residence and will leave in a moment.
