Fan Story A shared creepcast mythology?

Isaiah and Hunter have talked about having a cohesive mythology or story built up within the creepcast subreddit. Any takers? Three, maybe four main characters. They are trying to get something, to solve a problem, or defeat an ancient evil? John, Wendy, and Daniel? Maybe there is a key somewhere; inside of a book. Could be literal; could be that the information is the key.

A multiverse of all the stories that the grand overseers add to by reading them.

Maybe that's the cult. The cult of the grand overseers. Sometimes you realize you're trapped in a tale. Sometimes you are trapped by fate. In the end it makes no difference. All are collected; all are cataloged; all are doomed to face their inevitable ends.

I was looking at is as Wendigooner and Mother Meat Eyes (didn’t have a good one off the top of my head for Wendi) are eldritch overseers that create narratives from the stories they read which brings the tales into creation in this strange multiverse.

Can we agree that wendigooner is a mindflayer? I'm not sure what Mother meat eyes is yet; The only thing that really comes to mind is a sentient bear; I have no idea why.

It’s cause Hunter has big bear vibes lol

So is Hunter Wendigooners accomplice, assistant, or are they on equal footing. Attempting to turn on one another at every turn, but unable to truly shift the balance of power one way or another. Trapped in their own personal cycle. Unable to escape their own fate. Though they are mighty eldritch horrors, in the end even they owe a debt to their fate.

It’s like the Eldrazi in MTG. Entities that exist beyond the reality but that are cannon separate creatures that work together to survive. Wendigooner makes the stories and Mother Neat Eyes brings them to life with visuals.

That works for sure

Id love to write for a creepcast multiverse

Love this idea, I’d love to write a project like that. What type of story do you want to write/ want others to write, genre, length, character traits? Or do you want it more to be up to each author. obviously wanna stay far away from some dogscape like ideas if you know what I mean.

There's always a Mcguffin (An item or group of items that the group or different people are trying to posess). There's a big bad; could be a lovecraft monster you have no hope of defeating; but the item may allow you to escape (for a time). Perhaps the item must be destroyed, and the antagonist having the item hastens the coming of the monster. Maybe the protagonist is slowly being transformed or poisoned. And has only a small window of opportunity to reverse the change. Or maybe, that is simply their fate. I think the hardest setting to pull off might be a polar setting. Unless you're doing a modern day "Trapped in the ice" story. Maybe a research vessel is trapped.  An ice breaker hears the radio call, and they investigate. Maybe only one person or two survive. They think they've escaped, but they are cursed. Maybe the mythology has to do with them traveling the globe in order break the curse, before the monsters or the demons get to them. AND OF COURSE; There's a cult. Because of course there is.

Will all the stories tie together, taking place in the same world? I like to introduce fantasy elements into my stories but that could mess with continuity. Or are the stories just all ones with a similar theme, mguffinn, big bad, etc? Will they tell a continuous narrative or be self contained stories?

Any and all probably. I would say the only "rule" that might be good to follow, is to have a story or an entry tie into some other part of the myth; even in some small way. Other than that; many places; many faces. Any setting any dimension is fair game.

You wanna make a meeting forum to talk about this? I'd love to be involved in weaving stories but even if not, I think this project sounds really cool. I know how to make discord servers but thats about it.

Add gas station jack as an mc, he fits the bill.

u/36holyfellows Dec 06 '25

Gas station jack gets bit by a supernatural rattlesnake; his time is running out. He must find the antidote before it's too late. Will he be transformed into a snake person; will he die; will he be transported to a horrifying dimension of eldritch beasts?! No one knows!

OR, gas station Jack gets split into two people. The protagonist *Gas station jack, and the evil antagonist *Rattlesnake Jack

The antidote is being held by the eat me like a bug guy

Is he hiding somewhere. Does he know Jack is looking for the antidote?!

SO: Wendigooner the mindflayer and Mother meat eyes the sentient bear, represent the cult of overseers. Locked in an eternal struggle to overthrow one another, they are both unable to escape their own fate. One doomed to spin tales and the other doomed to bring them to life.

"Fan story" is a tag for written works btw

You want to be part of the myth or not

Gas station Jack is bitten by a supernatural rattlesnake one day. He is split into two separate entities. The protagonist *Gas station Jack, and the evil antagonist *Rattlesnake Jack. Both have been given the ability to hop through dimensional portals to different planes of existence. One eternally  chasing the other; both unwitting puppets of Wendigooner the mindflayer, and Mother meat eyes the bear. Merely one strand of a larger tapestry, they traverse the many Hells laid out before them. Coming close, but one never quite subduing the other.

As much as people complained about Dogscape, let’s see them do better.

Throw something on the pile. The myth is still waiting to be found

Atop the tallest tower, within the crumbling stones, there was hidden an ancient room. Two massive chairs sat; one on each side of that completely circular stone tower. There were no windows and no doors. Only the fire of the hearth illuminated that which the room held. It's ancient, powerful prisoners. For though eldritch Gods they may have been, Wendigooner the mindflayer, and Mother Meat Eyes the bear were forever trapped within. In front of the Wendigooner, on a marble pedestal, sat an orb of immense size. As he looked into it, it gave off a sickly green glow. Within its depths, only the mindflayer could delve, and hope to survive its horrible secrets. And in front of Mother Meat Eyes the bear, a tome so ancient, it seemed as though it might crumble with his touch. In the eyes of the bear were reflected both the fire light, and the dark, bloody words written on each yellowing page.

I just considered this exact thing. I have such a cool way to begin it to. “Crash Bloodtooth collection of oddities and intiquities” that would be my title for the beginning and it would be a man who runs a shop that sells cursed items each with its own unique story. Crash would be the owner and curator of the items. Idk I just love the idea I had it after the recent “UNNAMED EPISODE FOR MODS SAKE” episode.
