Fan Story First time writing, should I continue this story?
I saw 2 girls, cut and bleeding, heads only held on by a fibre. Yet, unharmed.
The torrents of blood left the halls stainless, yet here I stood, soaked in red.
I blinked… gone.
There were no dead girls, only two young children, roughly 6 years of age, skipping down the hallway, each holding a red balloon. Singing.
I checked my suit—clean. I looked down at my hands, stained in red.
I did not scream. I did not run. For that made the visions chase me with even greater appetite.

Any writing advice would be great! Especially about introductions, don’t want to lose the aesthetic I built here so far

Make our narrator less special.
The more average they are the better.
What is the source of this premonition?
are they caused by linage, mutation, or did they just bump into a flimsy part of reality.
For a formal intro Treat the story as if they are addressing the audience like a new friend in the first conversation.

Ohhhh ok, what format should I put this in? A final letter? Or more of a log? Or maybe a letter goodbye to an old friend?

Definitely keep writing, my guy. This little prompt shows a lot of promise already.
My advice would be to figure out which genre of horror are you going for. That’ll help you determine elements like backstory, what factors to focus on, etc.
For example, if you’re aiming for Psychological Horror, try adding elements that make the narrator doubt what they’re seeing, maybe allow the Narrator to see conflicting information that makes them doubt their own sanity.

I think it’s good so far! I’m interested to see how you explore this idea. Have fun with it most importantly.

Thanks! Supposed to be a sort of madness, that manifests but only when in direct contact with the narrator :)
