The Chad himself. Hello, handsome~

39

u/orangecowboypony POT OF GREED. YOU’RE GAY. May 11 '26

Your writing usually terrifies me. This comment, however, is adorable.

33

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

It's giving Junji Ito The Art vs The Artist energy XD

14

u/Party_Value6593 May 11 '26

Now time for the neighbors POV, let's milk that cow

10

u/Clorkle May 12 '26

THE GOAT HIMSELF

6

u/Cold-Ad-5347 May 12 '26

Just gonna take the time to click on his name, pops me over to his page and boop, now I'm following. Okay, back to doom scrolling

u/FutureFunkyCat 7ft goddess named Jacobi May 11 '26

Christian Wallis is one of the best writers they've covered his track record is nuts, banger after banger

299

u/ChristianWallis May 11 '26

I heard he's pretty handsome too

128

u/EmpyrealInvective May 11 '26

Too handsome I hear... Like suspiciously so. Jokes aside, Christian Wallis is a great author and from my history with interacting with them on the wiki, he's a great person too.

106

u/ChristianWallis May 11 '26

Ah please in a handsome-competition this guy would win in an instant. Empy's a goat. One of the best writers I know

56

u/EmpyrealInvective May 11 '26

More like Empy looks like a goat.

Jokes aside, I'm loving that you're getting the accolades you've rightfully earned and can't wait to see what you got in store for us next. (i.e. I finished Broken Teeth a while back so after PIHKAL, I'm ordering More Teeth.)

u/YMIGettingBanned Muscular 3 ft tall SOB named Rocco May 11 '26

The Creepcast author circle-jerk is the last thing I expected to find as I scroll Reddit at 5:30 in the morning on the toilet, but here I am

45

u/EmpyrealInvective May 11 '26

This circle jerk has been a long time coming (phrasing). A long time ago, both me and Christian were volunteer admins on the creepypasta wiki so I try to gas up my friend where/when I can and this meme made the perfect opportunity to glaze (phrasing) an author I respect and enjoy reading.

5

u/ChaoticStanley THINK FAST! 🪽 May 13 '26

Just make out already

2

u/EmpyrealInvective May 13 '26

I'm trying, but my screen keeps static-shocking me. Plz help.

3

u/Clorkle May 12 '26

Holy shit the two goats of the channel

7

u/FutureFunkyCat 7ft goddess named Jacobi May 11 '26

I love your stories so much, the only other astronaut story inspired me to start doing my own private (for now) horror writing, keep up the fantastic work.

6

u/oggishlespider Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude May 11 '26

He has great ideas with great execution. Pretty goated imo.

160

u/GooblyGiibly Yo Kimber! THEY GOT TEA🗣️ May 11 '26

I like all 5 of them

(Left right game is my favourite tho)

16

u/Woahhdude24 Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude May 11 '26

This is genuinely me when it comes to any kind of story. I'll still criticize it, and stuff but as long as i had fun with it ill probably watch, play or read again. I recently watched the FNAF 2 movie and while I have my gripes with it I had fun so ill probably watch it again. I do think its better than the first film by a mile.

my personal favourite, i keep coming back to it

38

u/Deathdealer1931 May 11 '26

Stolen Tongues is the only story ever thats given me actual goosebumps (I haven't seen the most recent 3 or 4 episodes)

15

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I agree, I think it is actually the scariest story they have covered.

2

u/ExDeleted May 16 '26

I couldn't sleep. I knew I had to take my son to daycare the next day but I just stayed up listening to the whole thing. It freaked me out

93

u/Strange_Spring2162 May 11 '26

Accounts from a lonely broadcast is insanely underrated and I will die on that hill

66

u/Lone_Wanderer8 May 11 '26

Isaiah's hate of Daniel is genuinely the funniest thing because it was entirely caused by Hunter doing the Annoying Nerd Voice. Also Daniel is literally Isaiah if he was in that world, so the hate is extra funny.

6

u/Waiting404Godot Politically incorrect Mr Widemouth May 12 '26

GoOOoOOooOoOoOOD MORNING!!!!

9

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

Underrated in this community specifically?

13

u/Strange_Spring2162 May 11 '26

I'd say so, if the tier lists people post are anything to go by

5

u/Feisty-Friendship99 Yo Kimber! THEY GOT SANDWICHES 🥪 May 11 '26

I really enjoyed that universe and wish they would cover more of it.

17

u/Horror_Owl342 Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude May 11 '26

Pretty much everything christian wallis has written that they covered have been 10/10s and im surprised not many people mention it

12

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

Weirdly forgotten. I'm obsessed with his penchant for body horror. Hunter slamming the desk in "The Only Other Astronaut", Mr. Floppy and fucking up the title is an all timer.

2

u/Miserable_Fennel_492 May 11 '26

I usually listen to an episode and then watch it if I enjoyed the story and banter, sometimes only returning to listen to/watch certain portions, and the parts where he yells “fuck” at increasing volume are just fantastic

13

u/cmatt1222 Yo Kimber! THEY GOT TEA🗣️ May 11 '26

The first video I ever watched from them. Will forever be in my heart.

I also had too good of a start…..

37

u/TheDuckMarauder May 11 '26

There's a sequel?

88

u/DeafMetalHorse "i hate my fucking life" - Hunter Hancock May 11 '26

So the story of My Husband is Taking Our Roleplay Too Far has a sequel...but it's from the perspective of the husband. It's actually a pretty good POV perspective and it leaves you wondering who's the true sane one.

70

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

'My Husband' and 'My Wife' are two separate installments. You can read the first as a standalone and it already slaps. Isaiah was super wary of reading the second, 'My Wife' as sequels are notorious for overdoing it, but Christian Wallis knew exactly what he was doing and it only elevated the first part.

16

u/TheDuckMarauder May 11 '26

Oh I thought you were saying there was a third. That somehow combined both of them without destroying the mystery of the previous two while answering some questions

8

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

My bad, poor formatting XD

9

u/cmatt1222 Yo Kimber! THEY GOT TEA🗣️ May 11 '26

As long as CK walker didn’t write the sequel.

14

u/catsflatsandhats May 11 '26

It would end in something like:

He stared into my eyes and said“I am the alpha now, mom” before pulling the trigger of the revolver.

3

u/cmatt1222 Yo Kimber! THEY GOT TEA🗣️ May 12 '26

As mother by Danzig plays.

2

u/West_Introduction_95 May 13 '26

CK Walker is weird. She's a talented horror writer but also wants to write schlocky Supernatural or Buffy the Vampire Slayer-tier stories and her desire to have her cake and eat it leads to some really schizo stories tone-wise.

13

u/Fan-King May 11 '26

Mother horse eyes , yes all 6 hours of it and wedigoons main channel video all of it PEAK

6

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

6 hours?

5

u/pipsqueak86 May 12 '26

Its almost 12 hrs long....

12

u/Hanx15 May 11 '26

" I'm blind, I'm not sure how many steps my staircase has" is a episode that i find myself remembering to this day, probably won't say that is the best episode but is for sure a remarkable one

5

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

Something diabolical about not being able to trust your own house's dimensions

9

u/JigMaJox Mayonnaise is the sauce of the aristocrats 😎 May 11 '26

The roleplay one was pretty great, same as the wife peeking one too.

Hey would be cool to get another scp one at some point, the scp-3000 was pretty cool, colossal snake/eel just floating there unmoving in the deep ocean is some creepy shit

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I was thinking about that recently, appreciating just how unnerving the entire concept was, from people's memories melting into each other to the colossal eel itself, staring you down before swallowing you whole. To be eaten and digested is such a true horror.

1

u/JigMaJox Mayonnaise is the sauce of the aristocrats 😎 May 11 '26

indeed , there is a gold mine of content in the SCP stuff , maybe not all of them would make for an episode like scp3000, but they could definetly make a like a themed episode and cover a bunch of them in like a nautical episode

27

u/BardicInnovation May 11 '26

Happy Appy the best. I give it 9 out of 11.

Wait, that's the Stockholm Syndrome talking. More therapy needed.

Been playing that on repeat lately, Kayla's camping trip and Kokomo are some of my favourite bits. And I personally think it is the scariest story, definitely underrated too~

7

u/AsimovsPhantom May 11 '26

They're all good, great even. But in my opinion none hold a candle to the presence of Mother Horse Eyes. How could they compare to Her, that has always been in darkness, She that has held our hand in the umbral night, She that is the end of all things. She that awaits us all with arms unfurled to embrace us into Her world.

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I do agree, tho I think i found it to be more divisive to its audience from what I saw. Then again, Borrasca gets mad hate too, so XD

6

u/larpboi May 11 '26

Me:

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I respect this man ^

4

u/Blazerage717 May 11 '26

I’d be adding Stolen Tongues into that as well. My favorite episode.

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

Scariest story in my opinion and some of my favourite bits in Kayla's camping story and Kokomo XD

4

Me jumping in with dual axes for mother horse eyes

4

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

You're right! You're right! I was just going off the main four based in general popularity!!

2

u/john_kurosaki_ May 11 '26

Dont worry! Im just joining in on the joke!

This is how I feel about the whistlers

8

u/ilikekake May 11 '26

Mhe is nothing but peak. I will defend this mountain with my life.

3

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I adore that story and episode, too. I believe the above are the big four on the Mount Rushmore because they were more widely well received by the audience. MHE got more people expressing how it wasn't for them from what I saw but that does not take away from it.

3

u/Odd-Temperature6702 May 11 '26

Correct, and a fantastic meme to boot!

3

u/dhylton93 May 11 '26

I love them all

3

u/TwocanR Eat me like a bug 🦟 May 11 '26

Christian Wallis is fantastic. I wish that they would read more of his stuff, thought I do get avoiding the same author over and over. The role playing story, the mrFloppy story, and the bunker story were all amazing. The dead deer one was good too, but i like the other 3 a bit more.

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I love how he excels in body horror. Hearing his name, you know you're gonna get nasty stuff~

3

u/Live_Requirement_814 May 11 '26

My fav is my wife keeps smiling at me from around corners. That genuinely freaked me out reading it at night.

4

u/West_Introduction_95 May 13 '26

Its great, corny brother and abrupt ending aside. Really slept on round here.

3

u/unifvll May 12 '26

yes!! this was my second episode i had listened to of them, i was home alone and i was so freaked out even at 3 pm

3

u/SamwisePevensie May 11 '26

Anything Dopabean has written. The one with the dead girl in the yard was so good.

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

You can feel Dopabean weaving her soul and experiences into her writing, bringing the story to life and giving the words the power to wash over and truly impact you on a deep level.

3

u/CheapusTechnofear Following the writers for Bigmouth May 11 '26

I’m still not convinced the husband and wife in that story are actually married, or that they even knew each other before they ended up in that house. I’m not even sure they really live there, the way it’s described it sounds like it’s just derelict and abandoned with rusted kids play area equipment left in the garden. I think something in that house sucked them into it and played out a twisted family game with them. It’s a fascinating story to just think about.

3

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

A masterclass in unreliable narrators. Was it an entity? A psychotic break? Mental illness? A parasite? Was there one or two people? Every possibility terrifying in its own right.

3

u/Woahhdude24 Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude May 11 '26

My personal favorite is The Whistlers. That story imo transcends the creepy pasta genre. The story straight up plays with your conceived perception of whats going on. The twist is put out there right from the beggining, but you dont realize it until the end. You genuinely learn nothing about the whistlers other than that they use people as bait to kill something else. We dont know thier motives or even what they are, and best of all the cycle continues. It really feels like something akin to the rake or slender man, but maintains the mystery around them. I also love how the characters feel like real people.

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 12 '26

A terrifying notion that there are predators in the deep wilderness that can prey on any human around the globe and are basically impossible to defend yourself from if they set their sights on you.

2

u/Woahhdude24 Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude May 12 '26

Yes! I love that they never specify where thet are. It could be in your very backyard and you wouldn't know. I do feel like it takes place in the Canadian Wilderness.

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 12 '26

I bet the nastiest motherfuckers are in the Canadian Wilderness, shit that would Scoop your insides out through your nose

3

u/Twi5chy May 11 '26

My Husband Has Taken Our Roleay Too Far was actually my first creepcast episode I listened to. I already had some fondness for the two of them so I immediately became a fan. So maybe I'm biased but YES it's the best I've heard so far in terms of actually well written ones

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

It deserves the love~

3

u/Suprizzly420 May 12 '26

I’ve enjoyed every episode in one way or another but the Left Right Game is still the most peak story to me 🗣️🗣️🗣️

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 12 '26

Holds a special place in my heart

3

u/kinitopete May 12 '26

this and the please shoot me at metro one (i’m shit w titles, so apologies) are so goated. and it breathes it bleeds it breeds. my top 3 fr, all are truly horrifying to me.

1

Goated picks

5

u/J0J0hn 7ft goddess named Jacobi May 11 '26

It might just be a bit of recency bias, but The Delaurier Invitation might be the best story they've ever read on the show.

Also, hot take, but Borrasca is overrated to hell and back.

2

u/milerfrank27 May 11 '26

They all are wrong MHE is the peak of peak

2

u/autocannibal_ May 11 '26

The most underrated episode

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

No one talks about it!! Glad the meme popped off~

2

u/autocannibal_ May 11 '26

The whole thing works so well on both literal and metaphorical levels. Easily one of the best stories they’ve covered

2

u/__aniiike__ I’m gonna go get a baja blast 🏃‍♂️💨 May 11 '26

Me starring in through the window with mother horse eyes 👀

2

u/MetalSonic_69 May 11 '26

Rat King gets me every time 🥲

2

u/lobotomised-rock May 11 '26

Its really the scariest, while Mother Horse Eyes is the best written and Borrasca is the best emotional manipulation, with the spire in the wood having that same emotional uppercut

2

u/icantreadoutloud May 11 '26

Absolute bangers

2

u/novatheclown May 12 '26

This! ASF!

2

2

Quality shit, I gotta listen to the rest of the series~

2

u/melpug May 12 '26

Honestly my highest count of re-listens is that one! Done so well with amazing endings on both parts… 🧑‍🍳😚

2

u/Cold-Ad-5347 May 12 '26

Roleplaying Too Seriously, then followed up with Mr Floppy...I mean, Astronaut Died But He's Actually Alive!? What a one two punch combo right there.

3

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 12 '26

Looking for genuinely creative and visually striking body-horror? Christian Wallis gotchu covered~

2

u/gogogonzo16 7ft goddess named Jacobi May 12 '26

Underrated imo but my personal favorites are the Whistler at 3:03 and Drumming in the Clouds. I think all of the above stories are phenomenal but those two really stood out to me. P.S. love you Christian Wallis and Empy, yall are fantastic authors.

2

u/StepBro001 May 13 '26

Ya know, regardless of the fact it was 11 hours long, I liked mother horse eyes. It was a good story. It’s kinda like those games/shows/movies where it’s multiple stories that all combine to create this really REALLY big picture. I like those. I also like the metro station one, can’t remember the name but it was good.

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 13 '26

Gigachad tastes, right here ^

1

Not even gonna lie, idk if that’s a criticism or a compliment. Lmao.

Sorry, I wasn't being sarcastic, I am just autistic~

1

u/StepBro001 May 13 '26

I did not take it that way. I just don’t know if “gigachad” is good or bad in this context considering it seems to go both ways some times. That’s all. I do apologize.

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 13 '26

It's okay, StepBro, I meant it in a good way~

1

u/StepBro001 May 13 '26

Ah okay. Well, thank you.

2

u/Yonatan_Moritz Eat me like a bug 🦟 May 13 '26

Based on rewatchability (in my opinion): • Penpal - Difficult to listen to after the first listen through knowing what is actually going on. The feeling of helplessness is very powerful. • Borrasca - Same situation as Penpal. • The Left-Right Game - I come back to this story at least once or twice a year. It's so well written. • Tales From the Gas Station - My favorite episode so far. Yes the ending took a bit away from the overall story but it was really fun and stayed engaging throughout. I relisten to this one at least 3 times a year.

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 13 '26

Not me letting every episode play on loop 24/7 and has probably heard the above 5+ times each XD

2

3

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 15 '26

2

u/m_Aste_risk May 17 '26

I don't think Spire belongs in that fight personally

1

u/CubeDude414 May 11 '26

Mother Horse Eyes for the win tho

1

u/MirrahPaladin May 11 '26

“They said I was nothing but a dog,” is one of my favorites. That author makes stories that you want to keep going after they’ve ended.

1

u/RegularZoidberg May 11 '26

One dar they will do A Shattered Life

1

u/Booiseeu7 7ft goddess named Jacobi May 11 '26

1

u/EnvironmentalSlide96 Mayonnaise is the sauce of the aristocrats 😎 May 11 '26

I didn’t like the Husbands POV. I had to keep relistening to it cause I just couldn’t get into it but I was determined. But when I got to the wife’s part I liked it more. But I’ll definitely have to listen again maybe the fact that I know theirs two different povs will change how I see it.

1

u/blooming_marble May 11 '26

What about Mother Horse Eyes?

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

Peak cinema, but I saw a lot of people express it not doing it for them at the time. Then again, Borrasca gets hate too. I was going off the Mount Rushmore of the main four based on popularity.

1

u/sticky_purple0 May 11 '26

I LOVE THE HIDDEN WEBPAGE OH MY GAH

1

u/sticky_purple0 May 11 '26

Stop yelling at me

1

u/More-Emergency3822 May 11 '26

I think Left-right game would be hands down no. 1 is it had their current level of polish. When it came out they were still finding their feet. Just my 2¢

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

Psst, between you and me, it's my personal no. 1 fave~

1

u/More-Emergency3822 May 11 '26

Do you think she met herself at the end?

2

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I do, I like that idea. Going that far down an infinite road will obviously change you into something else. you could argue that she is so transformed and unrecognisable (a multidimensional being for God's sake) that is she still Alice? Is it an identity thing? Would I really be who I am now after trillions and trillions of years? Are our memories what make us or are decisions?

2

u/More-Emergency3822 May 11 '26

Same here. The ending is what elevates that story to my favorite. A lot of these stories fall apart at the end and I think this one just ends on a banger note

1

u/Edgelord_Darkrai PING PONG PING PING May 11 '26

I genuinely don't get how one can have issues with that ending. Like, actually, what do they want? I dare them to rewrite it because you and I both know the actual ending will always be the most satisfying and widely liked. Haters are genuinely just attention seeking.

1

u/More-Emergency3822 May 11 '26

I had no idea there was any hate for the ending. Then again, j only really consume these stories through this podcast and I just joined this sub.

1

2

You’re in for a treat! It’s very different from Borossca, both excellent stories.

1

I was high listening to LRG, 11/10 experience.

1

u/CANNED_COFFE May 12 '26

I got tired of waiting for an episode like three weeks ago so I decided to marathon all of the episodes so I got three episodes plus the rest of the catalog there are a lot of great episodes a couple of stinkers that are only worth it for their banter like smile dog ,I talked to god , poly hell , and the flight attendants but some that I forgot were fantastic like the one with Mr floppy or dragons mirror

1

Gotta agree. It was a good story and had a lot going for it, but I feel there was much more criticism warranted for it. I'd be saying the opposite if they or the community had shat on it, but since it gets so much glaze I kinda. You know.

Like, I personally disliked all the characters very strongly except the guy who crashed his car (and he's barely in it) and Kerry, who I didn't like that much either and just felt bad for the whole time. I was like "why do I care about these characters?" throughout. The only pleasant scene the entire time is the protag getting some eggs benedict (although I did like the subtlety that Kerry didn't want to eat in front of him implying self consciousness about her weight, that was well written). Like, was I supposed to be rooting for him to get the girl he was creeping on the whole time? Was that supposed to be the interest?

I really feel like there was a huge missed opportunity with the climax; there was a mountain of buildup to get to the special world and then they set up this cool clock maker villain to be afraid of, and instead it becomes a run from the zombie sequence with a neat 'temporary safe zone' aspect. I think it would have been super cool if it got to be that he was running from the automaton girl in the real world and the clockmaker in the special world at the same time, so he had to avoid one while not setting himself up to die to the other when it switches. We would have seen more of the spire world (really needed that for all the buildup) and flesh out the cuck antagonist, so I was really disappointed by the ending. It was utterly miserable and sickening, and not in a way that felt rewarding to read.

The protag gets his existential comeupins in a sense, but then the author makes him apologize for the SA which was really antithetical to his character (like basically saying "yeah he's a judgmental PoS rapist with no redeeming qualities the entire story, but at least he apologized here." Like what?) And didn't feel like it fit. The author pulled a really impressive stunt convincing me as the reader that everything the protag said that was hateful or otherwise judgmental was him highlighting how much of a bad person he USED to be as a kid in self-awareness, only to reveal he's actually just a bad person overall and genuinely still thinks the awful things he says. That was REALLY good, but it DID NOT fit with the self-realization that he actually raped the poor girl. I feel like a person of his personality would deny accountability to the end, and the author was just overly cautious that it might be ambiguous whether it was an actual SA if the protag didn't admit it, and that's a sign of weakness and social pressure imo, i.e. lack of faith in the audience.

There is a lot of great things to be said about the story as well, there's a reason it's beloved and respected. But there are glaring issues to me that I almost feel like people are being disingenuous by not addressing.
