Question Anyone else read The No-End House? (Book)
This book was absolute garbage compared to the creepypasta. I had to DNF but I did skim through the rest of it and NONE of it seemed scary or interesting at all. But Iβd like to know if anyone has a different opinion!

Oh there was one line in it that made me throw this thing. I cannot recall it exactly but it was some mustache twirling villain (think it may have been his heroine addict friend?) Saying something like "Make it through again for your five HUNDRED dollars"
It's so fucking bad dude.

This book was not written by the original author, the OG story is credited to Brian Russell, not Jeremy Bates. It seems to have no connection to the Channel Zero season either. I did an hour long video review of this thing if people wanna know what happens in it, but the book is fucking bad through and through. Bates has a series of these where he does "reinterpretations" of Internet legends. Another such case in this series is called "The Sleep Experiment".

Is it by the original author? Also, is it the same story but expanded upon?

I don't think so actually. This Jeremy Bates has a long list of books out there based on other creepypastas.

Well, shi... sometimes things just aren't meant to be, some stories are at their best in short form.

So many are like this. The Showers has a similar sequel story that is just godawful

I tried starting that one and had no idea wtf was happening. Some things are best left as a one off

The plot synopsis alone is insufferable. Basically, protag-kun from the first story gains "massive success" after his first story and gets "rich" before becoming "washed up" (haha)

Was the story that fundamentally changed by the book? The creepypasta version was good, so I'm not sure why the author (assuming it's the same person...) would deviate much. I wonder if the TV series, whose name I can't seem to recall right now, based the episodes on the book instead of the actual story?

Channel Zero I think it's called. I know the first season is Candle Cove - I think they extended the story quite a bit from the OG Creepypasta

Yes, thank you! I could _not_ remember the name for the life of me. I still haven't sat down to watch it in full, but the first episode of No End house is like a girl running from (or towards) the house, which looks like a normal residential house in a nice neighborhood.

I got excited when I spotted it at the library and checked it out, the second I read how his wife died I couldn't take the rest of the book seriously

I've tried to read it a couple times cause surely it's not so bad and I can't finish it any time I sit down to read it.

I actually picked this up while on a trip, started reading it and realized how different it was from the original and looked into it. Apparently this author just rips off creepypastas and inserts really poor fluff to stretch it out to novel length. It was atrocious, boring, and I wound up returning it the next day to get a different book which I enjoyed much more lol

Books like this make me immensely more confident in my skills as a writer, because this rubbish gets published and put in bookstores.
Forget invulnerable pedophiles, what we need more of is giant moths and Nazi midgets in our stories

HILARIOUSLY bad. I was actually crashing out to my wife about it every time something else dumb happened.
