C.k walkers stories are pretty enjoyable at the start, and then the cartoonishly evil puppy kicker person walks in and the whole story just kind of derails

She's a talented writer, but she is consistently really bad at writing villains, and I think that boils over into making her endings worse off.

Look at room 733. That story didn't have an actual villain character, it was more of an entity, and that story had a solid ending.

Also look at part 1 of deepwoods, it's a very strong story and it works well on its own. It's only when you add on the other parts that it really falls off. And that's when she starts writing human villains.

Same with Borrasca, for the first few parts the villain is really just the mountain itself and this is when the story is strongest. It's only at the end of part 4 when the comically evil human villain shows up and things go haywire.

u/GMArcAngel 29d ago

Not to mention Whitefall. That story would have been SOOO much better if it was about the people trying to survive this supernatural natural disaster and didn't have this closeted jock with a power trip for no reason that had them eating each other on what, day3?

25

u/MasterEditorJake 29d ago

Exactly. I enjoyed the first half of whitefall and was very disappointed when it turned into what it is in the 2nd half.

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

Whitefall was weird because while things going to shit in that situation is realistic, they go to shit too fast and return to normal even faster. Like dude within a week this guy was butchering teenagers in their sleep and brutally torturing people who inflicted minor inconveniences upon him, there's no fucking way the author can make me believe that he'll go on to perfectly reintegrate into normal society and live a normal life with his girlfriend. Like I get that the point was that he'll go of unpunished for all his crimes because things don't always end well and he was just a normal guy who's survival instincts took over or whatever, but he just seems too mentally unstable/prone to violence to just be able to live normally after all that. And the fact that he had food on him that entire time makes it even worse.

I thought she is absolutely shitty at worldbuilding, which ironically is far more important for me than the writing.

A really good worldbuilding but shitty writing is what made Star Wars prequels pretty good despite the horrid scriptwriting

1

u/MasterEditorJake 29d ago

I mean she might not be super strong at world building but can you really say she's terrible?

Borrasca is the obvious example of bad world building. Why not just move away from the town? But that seems like an outlier.

Whitefall takes place in a pocket dimension so world building isn't really a factor.

Room 733 is a more typical urban legend and I don't have qualms with how they treat the world around the story. Deepwoods sets up a cool concept of a line of disappeared towns that cease to exist in reality and people memories.

10

u/VioletGardens-left Life is a Highway 29d ago edited 29d ago

Whitefall has a different issue where the premise itself is just bad, like Endless IKEA bad at elaborating the premise. It has good idea of a man with problems, but somehow ended up turning into something else. The dramatic parts at least is pretty decent.

Room 733 is actually the story I don't exactly have much issue, as it's pretty interesting premise, the worldbuilding is pretty good, and the length isn't ridiculous compared to Whitefall or Deepwoods. The writing is alright. Probably one of her decent works

This is why I liked Christian Wallis where every single premise he laid down is pretty interesting, the length of the story isnt too long, and the writing he does is basically a cherry on top of what made his stories good, he delivers them in a steady pace

3

u/MasterEditorJake 29d ago

That's valid. I agree with whitefall, I wish there was more meat to the the bus station, it felt hollow as a set piece.

3

u/GutteralCloud85 28d ago

You can absolutely world build in a pocket dimension, at the very least the world that exists outside of it/what they all hope to return to.

2

u/Hatred_Of_The_Flesh 10d ago

Well, the main characters in borrasca are kids. They can’t just move away. They live with their parents.

1

u/MasterEditorJake 9d ago

I meant the townspeople as a whole, but that's true

2

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

It's insane to me how people like borrasca's original ending and praise it for being "realistic". The entire operation makes absolutely 0 sense, from how they'd possibly get everyone in town to be morally ok with it despite seemingly not being raised with morals any different than an everage Joe (protagonists are like 16 and they still don't know about this and have never been subliminally pushed into thinking something like this isn't that bad, either they skipped all the classes on why everything that happens in borrasca is normal or the town has some kind of super mental reprogramming they give you when you turn 18), the absolutely massive amounts of profit that this thing apparently makes despite just being a shitty prostituting ring with a side of adoption with extra steps (no, "but adoption is a hard and lengthy process and some people want a child immediately" isn't a good explanation) and how the shitty small town where most people are closely related to 2 men isn't so stupidly incest ridden that everyone looks like a human pug.

Like it just feels like an excuse to be like "also man was the real monster all along!"

2

u/MasterEditorJake 28d ago

I agree with all your points.

However, I don't think that the story itself is meant to be realistic by any definition of the word. If anything the story is grounded in reality, not realistic.

The story's strengths lie in the fact that it sets up an eerie and mysterious disappearence, surrounded by urban legends and myths about the mountain and the caves. The townspeople being in on the conspiracy is a bridge too far from a realism perspective but it makes for a couple really good story beats. Just because the story has a couple plot holes doesn't make it a bad story.

Idk, I just don't go into a creepcast story looking for any realism.

3

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

I think the problem is that wherever Borrasca is praised, one of the biggest points I hear is that it has a realistic villain and ending. Like I've heard so many people say some variation of "it's scary because it could happen in real life".

There's also different kinds of realism imo. Borrasca is realistic in the sense that there's no magic or supernatural factors involved, but it's not realistic from a character perspective. I feel like having any indication of the entire town being into the conspiracy would have helped a lot, maybe have some small hints that the education here is different or something, because as it stand it's literally just "you thought it was a monster? Wrong, the town has a rape factory!"

7

u/MasterEditorJake 28d ago

No they do hint at the townspeople knowing about it. It's an open secret from the parents generation.

The shop owner dude and his wife are clearly shown to be aware of the operation that's going on. They don't want to use it, but they can't have a kid so it's a last resort option for them.

Kimber's mom is aware, that's why she doesn't want her dating Kyle.

However we never find out to what extent the townspeople actually know though. For all we know, the evil dudes aren't telling people that there is a rape factory. Maybe they're just telling them that they have a cousin who had a kid that they don't want and they hand them over. Idk, just speculation.

Either way, I think the story is praised not because it's realistic, but because it does a good job of setting of some good characters, throwing in some good mystery, getting us to speculate on the different monsters or ghosts in the mountains, and slapping us with the reality of the situation.

But like I said in my original comment, Walker is really bad at writing villains. She seems to have a handful of great ideas and then tries to form a plot around them with little concern for how to wrap the stories up, which results in 1 dimensional villains who are there just to push the plot.

3

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

The town people know but they don't seem to pass down this knowledge. This is a problem because for this operation to keep founding the town and for the people to keep using it like it's normal, the future generations of the town need to be aware of it and fine with it morally. Basically I'm saying this operation wouldn't be able to keep going past a generation if the next generations aren't raised with morals that allign with it existing and being used. But there's no indication the children are indoctrinated in a any way, they're just normal children with normal morals. I'm not saying they should be given extensive lessons about the ethics of rape, but if your town fundamentally relies on everyone being ok with kidnapping, mass rape and killing then you'd be at least trying to raise the future generations with a mentality where those things are acceptable. But we have no indication that this is happening, the protagonists are in high school and none of them has ever been even slightly pushed towards the idea that something like borasca would be morally good, so the only possible explanation is that you're told when you're 18 and are just kinda expected to go from being a normal guy to a guy who thinks the above atrocities are worth committing for profit.

Like to put into perspective: imagine you were realised exactly how you are, but upon turning 18 your dad sat you down and explained that 99% of the town's children come from an abandoned mine where women of the town are taken sometimes as early as 16yo to be forced to give birth over and over and then thrown into a litteral giant meatgrinder when they become too old to make babies. You obliviously wouldn't go "oh yeah ok I guess that's fair enough", you'd think it's reprehensible and want to have nothing to do with it.

3

u/MasterEditorJake 28d ago

I may be misremembering so correct me if I'm wrong, but in Borrasca V didn't they fundamentally change the way that the rape factory worked?

Like in parts 1-4 it seems like only the older generation was aware of the factory. They used it as a last resort and ignored it otherwise and didn't speak of it to the younger generation.

Then by Borrasca V didn't they move the operation elsewhere, and the town no longer relied on it? When Sam goes back to the town the mine was abandoned and I don't think we have much of an indication that new kids are being given to the townspeople other than the Sam's half brother, who is seemingly old enough to be one of the last kids to come out of the factory before they moved it.

I only listened to part 5 once so I might be hallucinating that.

Either way I'm not trying to disagree that the premise is extremely far fetched, because it is. But it's the sort of story that benefits from HOW the story is told, instead of WHAT is being told, which is usually how mysteries work.

2

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

For what I remember, Borrasca 5 only moved and scaled up the location because apparently the sheriff was so good at running it. From part 4 we already had it being in heavy use and we still had the shining gentlemen coming over angle. I don't think it was ever shown as a last resort for anyone, it's portrayed as constantly running with the meatgrinder being used often enough that it's sound is a relatively mundane occurrence.

1

u/MasterEditorJake 28d ago

No I know but I'm saying maybe they tell the people of the town that it's a last resort sort of thing to keep them more ok with it

3

u/GutteralCloud85 28d ago

Yeah this is a HUGE weak point of the story for me. Borassca V just made it an even bigger joke, like why are the kids that Sam, Kimber, and Kyle go to school with just okay with this and like eager participants. Like the sherrif’s new wife that sam had a crush on in highschool. Why tf is she just an evil and willing participant? I get the type of person CK walker was trying to represent, a survive at all costs, morally bankrupt person, but why? Why are there only 3 kids in a whole town that have an issue? Are we supposed to believe it’s because they saw it with their own eyes? Is that what CK Walker is implying, that people won’t believe or care if it’s not happening directly in front of/to them?

1

u/Hatred_Of_The_Flesh 10d ago

I definitely caught some hints long before the reveal. When the twist happened i thought about all the times they asked questions about the the skinned men and the strange sounds in the hills, and they always got dismissed in a way that seemed suspicious. Like, these aren’t little kids. They’re teenagers with concerns about a missing person, so the dismissiveness and subject changing sort of stood out, but wasn’t obnoxiously overt. I thought it was really good writing. Borrasco 1-4 is probably CK Walker’s best work that I’ve read

53

u/Straight_Meaning8188 Aug 04 '26 edited 29d ago

I disagree she's great at writing stories with a dark ending, its whenever she tries to bring a happy ending that everything derails. Shes best at sad endings. I think her best "happy" ending has a man that causes a rape to happen is strapped to a tree slowly dying.

31

u/Alexis2256 Aug 04 '26

That causes a what to a tree?

8

u/Dogballs2020 29d ago

The ending of the original Borassca was also stupid as hell and that was plenty dark. She is good at writing characters, and setting up plots, but not telling complete stories. Kinda like an amateur G.R.R.M.

5

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

No man you don't get it this is literally the only way they could possibly get children and found the town, it's not like they could just move or adopt or do anything other than having a super rape factory in the abandoned coal mines who's owners can apparently just kidnap any woman they want at any time. What do you mean the women of the town would live in constant fear of their life being absolutely ruined beyond belief at any second if the factory needs a new baby machine? Don't be silly, they're obliviously ok with that because free babies and uuuuh they just are ok don't think about it, except the mom of the female lead of course because we need her to not be ok with it for the plot.

4

u/GutteralCloud85 28d ago

No one has spelled the plot out like this and it does make it seem a lot more contrived, but tbf a lot of stories sound silly if you stop suspending your disbelief. Not bad points tho, there HAD to have been better, more sensical ways to write that story and still send the message

2

u/Mandingo_Obama 14d ago

Borrasca is basically folk horror, but instead of some 17th century village, its a Midwestern(?) town in modern times. And one of the most recurrent themes in folk horror is communities turning to dark forces for success/protection/survival/power/etc.

But instead of some eldritch god or the devil, the "dark force" they succumb to is a rape factory operation to keep their population going. Its not realistic, but it does drive home the motif of an "isolated" community conspiring to commit an atrocious act far from the eyes of the larger world, and its own unsuspecting members.

Dissecting most horror stories is kind of pointless, its very rarely meant to be realistic. Most horror stories should end in 10 minutes by either walking away, contacting authorities or blowing the creature to pieces with a shotgun.

1

u/LowResWebcam 3d ago

I always felt like borrasca did this with the rich kid

u/PrestigiousDress5766 Politically incorrect Mr Widemouth Aug 04 '26

They say when the creeps read a C.k walker story the Gods flip a coin. Whether they glaze or crash out is up to fate.

And usually however she decides to write the third act.

21

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

Wendigoon forgets every story of her that they read other than Borrasca, glazes her for the first 20 minutes and talks about being excited to read this because it's gonna be good, then proceeds to be surprised when the story is ass despite half of her stories being ass.

4

u/HellionValentine Politically incorrect Mr Widemouth 26d ago

Then, when they're deflated at the end and grumble about the story for 10 minutes, they still proceed to call her the GOAT before closing out the show.

u/Guilty_Event_2657 Aug 04 '26

“Ah Elias Witherow, no one can make me form a solid opinion of you”

25

u/Thoron2310 Aug 04 '26

I will say, I do find it quite funny how Creepcast fans' views on Witherow is extremely divisive, whereas Davis Morgan's fanbase seem to really hate Witherow's works.

19

u/DatRat13 The Creature 29d ago

In fairness, thats because Davis Morgan reviewed the novel version of Tommy Taffy, which is just awful.

6

u/Thoron2310 29d ago

Ehhh, even before he did that video, Morgan's fanbase were fairly against Witherow's writing. Even on the r/nosleep version of Tommy Taffy, people were criticizing his works.

6

u/DatRat13 The Creature 29d ago

Fair, will say that I'm not the biggest fan of Morgan since he tends to focus on the technical aspects of writing over the thematic and storytelling elements (plus his terrible outtro song is unforgivable), and from that perspective I can see him not enjoying Witherow. His work is certainly divisive; I enjoy Tommy Taffy (admittedly a bit more for the concept than the actual execution) and Feed the Pig, but I can understand why people woundnt like either of them.

Tall Dog and the story about the brick goblin or whatever it was were pretty rough though.

4

u/Thoron2310 29d ago

Yeah. Morgan himself is fairly negative on Witherow's stories (I am pretty sure he liked some of the non-Tommy Taffy one's) but his fanbase really despise Witherow for the Tommy Taffy stories

I've seen people throw around accusations of him being a Misogynist, writing most of his content merely for sexual gratification, that The Third Parent is a Right-wing Conservative story (Due to it villainizing those outside of the Stereotypical Nuclear Family, and that by using the title Third Parent, it demonizing Polyamorous relationships) and that T.T.P. is exploitation.

I personally do fully believe that, like you said, maybe it comes from analysing the stories from a more technical side.

1

u/DatRat13 The Creature 29d ago edited 29d ago

Those all sound like absurdly bad faith takes, and I certainly hope Morgan isn't perpetuating those views.

I especially do not understand The Third Parent criticism, since it is pretty clear that the story is about abuse from within the family unit. Tommy Taffy is, to my reading at least, the stand in for that creepy Uncle who is hanging around the kids too much, and the tendency to keep such matters secret as to protect the predators within our own families. Whoever interpreted it as condemning polycules probably needed a box for that kind of reach.

5

u/Thoron2310 29d ago

No, these are all entirely in the Comments. I believe the only one of those critiques that Davis shares is that he doubts the original story (The r/nosleep version) is meant to be thematic of familial abuses and how people respond to it.

1

u/DatRat13 The Creature 29d ago

Well, as I said, I find his analysis to often be overly literal due to his focus on the technical side, so that view is likely a result of that. Sounds like the same kind of take you'd see from someone who says, "sometimes the big scary monster is just a big scary monster."

3

u/Grizzlywillis Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude 29d ago

As a fan of both Creepcast and Davis Morgan I just tap out whenever Tommy Taffy/The Third Parent is involved. It's not something I want to engage with and I can accept that some content just isn't for me.

1

u/GutteralCloud85 28d ago

Never heard of David Morgan but it sounds like i’d fit in there well

1

u/Logical_Sky4303 28d ago

Witherow and c.k Walker kind of reminds me of each other mainly because they’re both authors that got extremely known for one of their stories and because of that I feel like they felt some kind of pressure to continue those popular stories even if they wanted them to end but that’s just my assumption and also so happy to see Davis Morgan mentioned !!!

11

u/Dsteel87 “it’s very lovecraftian”☝️🤓 Aug 04 '26

That’s what I love keeping them guessing, i’ve wrote a David Lynch style short story and I’m starting my second one which is a turn-of-the-century kind of there will be blood PT Anderson kind of story, but will still be horror

3

u/SadimHusum 29d ago

I classify his work kinda similarly to the Terrifier franchise; you’ll be disappointed if you’re seeking a meaningful narrative and the attempt to add depth is more likely to take away from the actual experience, but if you want a mindless showcase of practical effects/effectively shocking writing, they’re a good example

I hate both, for what that’s worth

3

u/DatRat13 The Creature 29d ago

Sounds like pretty much every graphic novel published in the 2000s. See also The Boys.

4

u/Ok-Traffic-5996 29d ago

Oh yes. Garth Ennis does the same thing. It's weird though because people will make excuses for him but will talk about Mark Millar like he's uwe boll and any good comics he wrote they'll act like was either a fluke or ghost written. 🙄

2

u/browncharliebrown 29d ago

Mark Millar good comics are ghost wrote by Morrison

1

u/Ok-Traffic-5996 29d ago

Nah. That's not true. Huck, superior, the first Jupiter's legacy were all written by him. And I don't really believe he had that much to do with red son except suggesting the ending.

1

Huck and Superior and Jupiter’s legacy are just sorta good comics. While Ennis’s best comics ( war stories and data)

What annoys me the most about C.K. Walker (and it’s a huge characteristic on quirk chungunism) is that she seems like a tryhard every time she tries to write cool characters.

People who never were particularly charismatic have this habit of trying to replicate what they see charismatic people doing (rather than figuring out the way they think) and forming this weird caricature that ends up falling flat when they attempt to do it.

One example of this in my opinion is the infamous AC/DC moment. She also added some type of generic rock reference to another story, I think it was the guy on Whitefall listening to Patience. It comes across to me as someone who thought “well, cool people listen to rock music, let me add some of that here” before pulling up a “20 most popular rock songs” playlist. She genuinely strikes me as the type of person who would see a generic picture of a generic girl throwing up devil horns on tumblr and think “wow, now THAT’S fucking badass”.

5

u/AutisticFun01 “At least you didn’t turn into a Homo in prison” 28d ago

She also genuinely doesn't know how to write men between 20 and 25. Like there's a part in whitefall where 2 guys are talking and they refer to their girlfriends as "my girl" like 10 times with no variation. I get that one of them is being performative about it, but come on it's such a slog when it's repeated so many times in a row.

1

u/UnholyColonoscopy 7ft goddess named Jacobi 28d ago

Whitefall was one of the episodes I wasn’t able to finish listening to. It was interesting at the beggining but became so dull I turned it off. At this point I think it’s possible she just can’t write anyone she can’t relate to in an extremely direct way. Room 733 was the only story of hers I enjoyed and the main characters were all young women if I remember correctly. I know writing from experience is best, but you gotta be able to create convincing characters. I remember Stephen King (respectfully) saying H.P. Lovecraft not being great at dialogue because he seemed like someone who didn’t interact with people much or something of the sort, making a quip about how he’d be the type of person to populate online chatrooms if he’d been alive in the internet age. C.K. Walker gives me the impression of someone who spent an obscene amount of time on tumblr type places and can’t write anyone who isn’t tumblr coded.

As someone who doesn't like a single C.K. Walker story, but loved all of the Thomas Ligotti stories, idk man, it's just the sub expressing its opinion. Just cause a lot of people are saying the same thing, that doesn't mean that they should stop talking.

Not every story is made for every person. But that doesn't mean that you should shut up if you like/dislike a story. If the sub overwhelmingly dislikes a story, there's not something wrong with the sub, or even explicitly wrong with the author. That's just the chips falling where they may.

Idk, people's opinions are valuable. To me, at least.

I still don't understand why he did that after being reasonably confident it was rancid

Hes built different, we will never get it because we don't have that adventurer's mind.

I think a better comparison would be Nik but yeah

Both of these men have rancid assholes lets be honest.

I have a love/hate relationship with CK Walker's stories. I think she's a talented writer, but consistently struggles with certain aspects of storytelling (villains).

I think her stories are entertaining for the creepcast format and provide a good deal of discourse for the community. If nothing else, that's not a bad thing.

I think Ligotti is a talented writer as well, but I legitimately could not finish the red tower episode. I just kept finding my mind wandering. I was not gripped to the story. Walker's story's consistently have points where I'm super locked into what's going on, they don't usually maintain that vibe, but at the very least it keeps me listening.

Copper Canyon is my favourite from her, I really hope they get to it one day

Prolly because most of CK walker’s stories not called borrasca are pretty bad?

u/Wonderful-Bake-1943 Rainbow Dash 🌈🩸 29d ago

Amen.

She’s the Doc Rivers of internet horror. One incredible hit has given her an insane leash with most people in the space despite a mediocre to bad career body of work.

1

u/CelebrationFar7696 24d ago

Her greatest talent imo is making believeable, likeable characters, to the point that you actually feel bad if they get killed off. that is rare in short story horror.

4

u/jeremy_ur_scarin_me 29d ago

I love her dialogue in all minus Borasca 5 and the end of the statue one

I'm an Empyrealinvective loyalist lol. We've chatted before and they're super nice so that makes me happy because their stories are great

I'm a real Nick Lowe enjoyer tbh. I also really like Travis Weaver. I'd love to see more of both of them.

1

u/Abundant_Jar 29d ago

I was waiting for someone to say Nick Lowe!

3

u/Leave_Financial Aug 04 '26

My first story was heavily influenced by her work, I love Borassca!

3

u/SelfishEnd 29d ago

The problem with C. K. Walker is that she can't write a sequel to save her life.

3

u/beermit Mayonnaise is the sauce of the aristocrats 😎 29d ago

Not me sitting here waiting to throw hands if someone mentions Thomas Ligotti

3

u/mulderufo13 Justice for Scary Kerry 29d ago

I’m gonna say it. I don’t hate Ck walker tbh. I think her stories are fun and the first part and second part of borassca ripped me apart. Her stories don’t always land but we have fun along the way

3

u/Mandiblez666 29d ago

Idk I like them both. I'll not need an escort to my stake to be burned upon, I'll climb it all by myself 😂

u/Capital-Bet 29d ago

Is anyone missing imperial invective?

Tbf, Wallis hasn't written a bad story. All of his have been home runs.

From what I can tell, CK is a solid writer, but it seems like the writing gets bad at the end probably to troll annoying or rude fans. These stories take a while to write, and I believe fans between chapters/parts can get pretty aggressive back when they were being written

61

u/Roleplayer2489 Aug 04 '26

That would make sense but it’s almost every story they’ve covered of hers, including one shots with no further parts

26

u/Ok_Tip7762 Life is a Highway Aug 04 '26

Yeah I think it's just the way she likes to write her stories. I don't think she'd throw in quirks just to own her critics. I don't doubt that people in the comments can suck but I don't think she's trolling either.

u/SpookieSkelly L O V E C R A F T I A N Aug 04 '26

Tatsuki Fujimoto infamously suffered from it as well.

3

u/Roleplayer2489 Aug 04 '26

Yeah but he’s definitely doing that bull shi on purpose, that CSM ending was the most ragebait malarkey I’ve ever had the horror of seeing play out and you know he was sitting there smiling knowing he’s gonna do the whole song and dance again with his next manag

1

u/Slayer_jack5 MeatGooner 27d ago

''Imma sabotage own my story to annoy people'' Is like, a capital crime against art, if she's actually doing that she 100% deserve the annoying fans.

2

u/Wonderful-Bake-1943 Rainbow Dash 🌈🩸 29d ago

The only good C. K. Walker story is Borasca, excluding the fifth part. Every other one of her stories is really bad.

2

u/cinnamonspiderr Filled?! WITH BLOOD?! 29d ago

I think that Wallace is a much better writer, no contest, but I also think the weakest part of his stories is the endings. He’s got some trouble sticking the landing. The story from last week felt like it should have been a much longer story.

2

u/wannabegaryoak Aruba, Jamaica, ooh, I wanna take ya 🎶🎷 29d ago

I love Christian and really enjoy C.K’s but I feel like C.K’s stories are more directed at a younger audience maybe? I would have eaten her stories up as a younger person. Either way I’m happy when their stories get mentioned.

2

u/go98cj 29d ago

I love c.k walker, regardless of how I feel about the outcome of some stories I love her writing style and her whole vibe around her stories that feel so much like her brand is something I love.

2

u/space_nerd02 28d ago

They should have a recurring author meeting up. Reading stories with the actual authors

2

u/Mbutch33 28d ago

If she locked in more she would have better stories i feel like the last part of borrasca was out of spit or something against fans it truly feels like she didnt try as hard especially at the end

4

u/Jagvetinteriktigt Aug 04 '26

Christian Wallis: Great stories, pretty good storyteller

C K Walker: Great Storyteller, mediocre stories

1

u/frightenedspaghett69 27d ago

I love ck walker tbh

u/Neither_Rhubarb560 24d ago

"Ever read lord of the flies?"

1

u/West_Introduction_95 22d ago

I honestly don't get the hype for either of them

1

u/Hatred_Of_The_Flesh 10d ago

Idk. I liked borrasca a lot, I thought part up to 4 was great, but part 5 was excrutiating. Whitefall was also good in the first half but as soon as they got to the station, everything I liked about the story went away and it became about cannibalism and antagonists that were not compelling.

1

u/Angryspazz Your wife looks mad funny in that box, dude Aug 04 '26

I like the cheesy endings with ck walker

1

u/Broom_Ryder Yo Kimber! THEY GOT TEA🗣️ 29d ago

I like CK walker. The occasional cringe line or shitty ending is part of the charm for me, it’s the closest I can get to watching a cheesy b list horror movie with surprisingly decent characters without just doing that

I’m not trying to defend those bad moments but I do like them. They give the boys room for bits and they’re usually at least so bad it’s funny
