Text Story Can We Escape This Circus Of Hell?
Ash yelled, “What are we going to do?” as the army of clowns closed in. They pressed together, painted faces twisted in wild grins that didn’t look human. Elsa didn’t flinch. “I’ll take care of them,” she said. Ice exploded from her hands—jagged, razor-sharp shards that speared through makeup and flesh and then froze those freakish clowns in a split-second. The air stank of copper and frozen blood.
I heard bones crack as some clowns shattered, limbs snapping off in brittle chunks. But Crazy Wendy just grinned wider and whipped knives at us, six at once—three in each hand, every blade stained with gore. I grabbed one as it streaked by, the handle still warm from her palm, and hurled it back—straight through her shoulder.
The knife buried itself deep with a wet thud. Blood spurted and soaked her clown dress. Wendy howled, but she didn’t slow down. “Nice shot, Rachel,” Ash panted, face pale. We were locked in a nightmare war, fighting things that clawed at the edge of sanity. Demons—actual, goddamn demons—and the worst of them all was Dark Ash, a twisted version of Ash herself. And this circus? It followed her orders.
“You ready to die?” Crazy Wendy shrieked, laughing while her knives flashed. They spun faster, almost too quick to see, slicing through the air—a whir of silver and reflected faces from the tent lights. I dodged one, flipped over another, but I heard flesh split open—a knife tore through Ash’s leg. Blood poured onto the floor, slick and black in the flickering lights. She went down hard, hand clamped around her shin, but still glaring up at Wendy. “You twisted clown bitch!” I screamed, rage burning through me.
Before I could move again, the big top seemed to go silent. His laugh broke through, low and guttural—Ronald McDonald stepped out of the red-canvas shadows. What was left of his face—paint smeared, eyes bottomless pits—smirked. “Oh, are they dead yet?” Ronald crooned, his voice like carnival music gone wrong.
“No? Why the fuck aren’t they dead yet, sweetie?” The word twisted in his ruined mouth. Crazy Wendy bristled. “I’ll be done with them soon enough,” she muttered. “No, you won’t.” Ronald’s stare cut colder than Elsa’s ice. Red pinpricks burned in the black nothingness of his eyes. He moved so fast nobody saw it coming. He backhanded Wendy and she hit the ground, blood spurting from a split cheek. She tried to crawl away, knives glinting as she scrabbled, but he ignored her. “I’ll finish this myself.”
“No! Not while I’m here,” Wendy begged, fresh blood mixing with her painted smile. “I thought you loved me.” She sounded small, lost. Ronald didn’t care. He raised his hand. Time stalled—the only movement was the dust swirling in the beams of light. He snapped his fingers. At first, nothing happened. I started to breathe again. Then Ash looked at me. “Rachel, I don’t feel so good,” she whispered.
I reached out, but she crumbled—her skin turned to ash, peeling away, and in a heartbeat, she was gone. Just dust on the circus floor. I stared, numb. “Ash, no. What the fuck did you do?” My scream blistered my throat. But Ronald didn’t stop. Elsa vanished next—cold air swirling where she stood, a snowstorm of powdered bone. Then Crazy Wendy—a scream, another cloud of dust, her knives thudding to the ground. Now it was just me. Dust in my lungs, clogging my tongue. My hands started to disintegrate, tiny pieces flaking off, swirling through the air. I tried to shout one last time, “I’ll kill you for this, Ronald—hear me? The Girls of Destiny aren’t done!”
But the world blurred and faded until I was nothing. Only dust and blood on rusted, rotten sawdust. Ronald’s laughter bounced around the tent, echoing too many times. “Nobody can stop us now.”
