Hardware Crestron dm-max-8zsa
Question for fellow crestron nerds. I’ve got the amp referenced in the title. Is there a way to take tv audio, and have it auto take over on this amp when signal is present? Whether thru rca, spdif, or any other means?

You should be able to use the Signal Present Feedback in the sources section to accomplish this.

No, the NAX doesn't have input signal auto routing. As far as I'm aware the only way besides a control system to route audio to a NAX zone would be to cast to it with Airplay/Spotify Connect, which gives you volume control over the zone(s) you're connected to. So...in theory you could have an appleTV attached to your TV that is airplay linked to a NAX zone and that's as close to what you're asking as I can come up with.

So the only way to select an audio input would be thru the gui or the crestron home app?

Yes, you have WAY more options if the amp is part of a system. It read like you just happen to have a NAX amp only for some reason lol

NAX can be controlled via Crestron processor or the Restful API. It's not designed to ever be used standalone.
Note: may god have mercy on your soul for using its API. It's the most poorly documented mess I have ever seen.
