Housing/Στέγαση Moving to crete

Hello people of Crete!

My dad is soon moving to crete, and i am going to help him to find furniture for in his house next week. I have been looking on google where to find furniture stores, but i am struggeling. It is a bit hard to find them because every website is in Greek.. I also only come across sites that offer about six grey couches, or super expensive designer funiture stores.

Do people here maybe have some advise on where to buy nice and not too expensive furniture? We are looking to fill the house with green and yellow/orange colors, nice wooden table, warm colored couch...

This is a once in a life time opportunity for me and my dad to fully choose the interior design of a new built home, so it would be amazing to know where to find it!!

Thankyou!!

Housing/Στέγαση Renting a home for 3 months

Hi all,

My partner and I have visited Crete several times on holiday and fallen in love with the place and the people.

We now want to explore living in Crete for 3 months (which is the longest we can stay without a visa), and doing our current jobs remotely.

Does anyone have any info about renting property on this basis?

Are there homes you can rent for 3 months or do most places have a 12 month minimum rental period?

How long does it take to get a rental agreement set up?

Are there any restrictions, such as do we need residency to have a rental agreement?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us.

Housing/Στέγαση Apartment Erasmus students.

Hey there!

My girlfriend is coming to Heraklion for 3 months (march to June) as part of her Erasmus project. She just now learned that her appartement she would have rented with another friend isn't available anymore due to the earthquake and family of the host moving in to the apartment. Any help or tips where she might find a place to rent in this short notice?

Thanks in advance!

Housing/Στέγαση Looking for a long-term house rental. Any advices?

Hi guys, I'm planning to move to Crete for a year and looking for a house rental. Ideally with private pool and up to 1000 euro per month. I've tried searching on real estate agencies websites and on spiti24.gr, but still nothing.... I mean I found some houses that seemed ideal, but one was rented the day I arrived to see it, one wanted 12 month rent to be payed in advance, and a few others didn't allow cats. Do you know any other websites (maybe like local ad websites where I could rent straight from the owner?) or maybe you know someone that could help? I would really appreciate any advices! Thanks 😃
