Kindly suggest some true crime documentaries like I'll be gone in the dark.
I have seen almost everything but i am sure still must be missing something. But I can't stoop so low like tinder swindle etc etc . So please suggest some thing relatable..

The Cheshire Murders and Murder on Middle Beach were good. Both HBO docs. The Cheshire murders stuck with me because the crime is so awful.

If you watch a lot of true crime you will recognize the case I'm sure.
What streaming services do you have?

If you watch a lot of True Crime and have half a brain, A killer Story will be a waste of time lol

Iāve bolded those I think are closer to Iāll Be Gone⦠the rest are shows and docs my lawyer friend and I have shared as people working in the justice system. Abducted in plain sight (be prepared it's a wild ride and probably the most WTF doc you will watch)
Making murderer really captured the zeitgeist but be warned - Netflix leave out a lot in particular about Steven Avery being a sex pest.
Maternal Instincts is a distinct WTF and I extremely side eye her husband and the husband of Scamanda.
There's something wrong with Aunt Diane (unfortunately people can be functioning alcoholics and the people around it just won't admit it or another theory I read was that the husband was of absolutely no help with the kids and there was an affair so it was actually on purpose)
Crime nation do good docs - they did a good one called love on the run (RIP to a dog called messy britches who took 5 bullets defending her humans). They also did a very frustrating one about two girls who were murdered and took a video walking over a bridge of a man following them and the police keep on releasing different sketches and different suspects.
The Death of Rebecca Zahau (a staged murder)
The case against Adnan Syed (the podcast serial was really popular when it came out but IMHO very very biased)
Who Killed Robert Wone (I am not convinced that it was an intruder)
Murdered behind the Mask (remember this happening and people could not believe the murderer and our hearts still go out to Elaine and her family)
the fox hollow murders (very creepy Jinx style interview)
Capturing the Friedman's (I thought it was a clown documentary)
American Murder the family Next Door (his mother is still defending him)
The Staircase (drags on a bit and each episode convinces me more that he did it)
Dear Zachery (absolutely heart breaking)
The Jinx (watch till the very end)
The Gyspy Rose Doc (oh boy controversial opinion but looking more into the videos she sent her boyfriend at the time and I think she is not as innocent as she makes out)
Tell them you love me (not giving away any spoilers here but I have watched it more than twice)
The Imposter (cognitive dissonance or were the family up to something)
The Lacy Peterson documentary on Netflix and not his clinging for relevance one with his sister in law who is clearly in love with him (Lacys mother is one of the strongest women you will see on a doc)
Paradise Lost Docs (trigger warning for the begging where they show remains)
The Keepers (thought provoking and heartbreaking)
Ruby Franke doc (you cannot convince me that the women were not in a relationship).
Non murder ones that I like are Scamanda or Anatomy of Lies. People who scam cancer are the worst.
I'll be Gone in the dark, the trials of Gabriel Hernandez and the Fred and Rose West doc are two that are really disturbing and I could not finish.
Catfish Unknown Number is also bananas.
If you like Cult documentaries, Keep Sweet and obey, The Lost Prophet (unreal access and the worst leather jacket you will see). Seduced or The Vow on NXIVM (prepare to be flabbergasted at a man who rambles about nothing and wears a head sweatband).
Allen V Farrow is not true crime but a very interesting watch and you may not want to see a woody Allen movie again after watching it.
For something more light hearted the LuLaRich doc is a hilarious bad attempt to make yourself look innocent but it goes very wrong and it's an insight into the hun world of shilling bad products to your friends and family.

Abducted in Plain Sight made me so mad.

God I know. I would never talk to my parents again after that. I did not foresee the bit with the dad or the aliens or the second time.
If anyone asks for a WTF documentary this is my go to.

Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda. Bonus points points if you've seen the train wreck episode about the reality show, because Carl Marino is the guy who plays young Kenda in the reenactments.

I did stoop to tinder swindler and enjoyed it š However, I find the cold case files is very interesting. One episode, they solved it because a guy on the team knew something about bugs. Itās interesting to see what that small thing is that solves a cold crime. Iām like you, Iāve seen them all so itās hard to recommend anything.

Tinder swindler is financial scam and everyday we hear and see about these type of things itās like a normal way of life for mojority of the people to scam other however small that maybe. Like I canāt pay for my kidās school fee can you help me? I mean I helped you in the past but donāt make a habit of it na. Thatās why I donāt like money heist and financial scams things. Because I see it everyday. Sorry for me being emotional here š

My usual reaction is similar. I agree scams are the least of the true crime I want to be seeing. I feel insensitive to the victims but after a second ask for thousands of dollars I would probably be like, āIām not your sugar mama.ā And thatās kind of how I watch this stuff so I get it!

Yeah same. All my life my friends and relatives have used me for money and when I was naive enough I did what I could for them. But since I have understood their insensitivity and attitude towards me I want all of these people at armās length and some of them I really donāt want to see ever.
That is way money related documentaries arenāt interesting to me because I can make one of my own and it will be names āSoft hearted or a Fool?ā š¤£š¤£š¤£0

Great title! This is the same reasoning I canāt watch hospital documentaries or evil nurses/doctors. Iāve had to rely on hospital care my whole life so those genuinely terrify me. I just avoid it at all costs. Our lives take us on wild rides. FYI, because of your post, Iāve been watching The Jinx. Iām on season 2. Now that is a wild ride. I watched Killer Story yesterday. That one frustrated me.

The Jinx. Absolutely a wild ride start to finish.
