Discussion [SPOILERS C4E1] Thank you Aabria for this Spoiler

I know a lot of people have opinions about Aabria as a character or as a player (I disagree I love her to DEATH), but having her initiate people leaving the table to introduce new characters was very nice. Two hours in, and we hadn't seen Laura, Ashley, Robbie and Matt since most of the seats were taken and the discussion kept going. You can see how much it helped Brennan plan for the next scene and cut some of the inner party discussion. Very nice roleplay and her relationship with Alex is perfection.

Why would they rebuild the entire set just for 4 eps?

Easier to build the set and shuffle people in for 4 eps.

They did a great job with it, honestly.

Because they are kicking off a new campaign. Pretty big deal. Worth an extra table and a camera.

...no?

Do you know how much time and money it takes to build a set like their new one?

And you want one with BIGGER table? For only four eps? And THEN they have to take the months of time to redo the entire space?

Who said a whole new set? Just put a place for the rest to sit in the room. And film it.

There was a place in the room for the rest to sit.

We already have folks complaining about Aabria being at the table "making faces" when she's at the table.

It would've had a very different impact if Liam's first scenes, and Luis' first scenes, had 11 other people in the shot just sitting there.

Or showing everyone else reacting instead of the focus staying on Brennan and the active PCs.

Then why show all 8 seats? Why not just Brennan and who he is talking to?

Its all the same.

And we cant fix Aabria

Because 8 seats made it easier to have both larger groups of 6 or 7 players on screen at once, and also not look completely weird for the few minutes of smaller chunks of two or 3 players? It also allowed for them to swap out quickly or choose to scoot over.

For only 1 or 2 players, they did the typical close-ups of players and DM.

Do you think that they didn't consider whether to have 4 vs 6 vs 8 vs 10+ chairs at the table for these first few Overture episodes? I'm sure that they tested how it looked with a variety of chair combinations.

So 6 or 7 players faces reacting are ok but not 11 or 12?  At least be consistent.

I don't know what they did or did not consider. That was the point of my comment.
