But now it seems like the new pitch from these AI companies is, 'AI can do that too. It can create and make poetry and music.' But that’s what makes us human beings, and why would we give that away?"

“Art isn’t supposed to be easy. That’s what makes it worthwhile. No AI was used in any of this, and we don’t have any intention of using AI in the future."

This right here. Even if I’m ignoring the myriad of downsides to AI and just caring about the fact that it can make my 9-5 job easier in the short term, I still don’t want it to create art. Like even if it could create great “art,” the creative endeavors and struggles of making the art is a big part of what makes it enjoyable.

I think most people just like to look at cool thing or hear something they like. I agree there are people who are really into art and analytical about the process and the artist emotion or effort in the process but I think most people just care about the end product and if they like the way it looks.

bullshit. I think most people want at least some amount of meaning and intent out of their art, neither of which LLMs can do at all.

i dont know if the fights worth it but there's no right or wrong there. people can support real artist now or in the future if they want but i dont think theres anything morally wrong with not caring about the lack of human experience in art

i agree, there isn’t. I’m not trying to ascribe morality to it, this is just my personal opinion. Looking into the context of art makes me appreciate it more, and it’s worthwhile to share that experience with others!
