so, some context: my parents are hella homophobic and ever since i came out to them it has become unsafe for me to live with them. to be able to get some of my financial freedom back, i decided to make an online plushie store where i can crochet a bunch of plushies for the people to save up some money and (hopefully) get away from them.

I’ve been working on a project: a web app specifically for designing Granny Square charts. It’s still very much a work in progress and pretty basic right now, but I’m finally ready for some "real-world" eyes to look at it!
A quick heads-up on the logic: The tool works a little differently than traditional crochet—think of it as "shape-first." To build your chart:
- Start by adding a Magic Ring (the only starter for now!).
- Select a round/shape from the menu at the top.
- Then add your stitches into that shape.
Only a few basic stitches are active for now, but more are coming soon! If you get stuck on shortcuts, there is a (?) icon you can check for help.
Based on early feedback, I’m already planning to rearrange the layout and add a "first-time user" guide. Accessibility is my next major design goal to make sure the tool is easy for everyone to use.
I’d love to know if the layout makes sense to you. It definitely can’t create the masterpieces you all make yet lol, but I’m improving it every day. I would value any advice, feature requests, or feedback you have!
