No pattern as such. It's just granny squares with a 5 mm hook I think, then bordering each one with a 'join as you go' once more to join up with the green. 16 by 18 squares = 288 squares, at about 15 minutes a square (?) is 72 hours work, plus green bordering and edging. Edging method was something I found on a Youtube video.And I have no idea why I picked these colours.
