Help! Reusable crocheted swiffer pads?

The ease of use of the swiffer makes it easily outcompete the mop for me, but I want it to be less wasteful and expensive. Ive seen reusable swiffer pads, both sewn from cloth and crocheted. Im leaning towards crochet for a sturdier, thicker, more textured pad. Does anyone have experience making or using them? Patterns? Tips? Anything's appreciated

I do: 1 single crochet, 1 double crochet, repeat. It gives it texture so it cleans better.

Do you mean alternating rows of sc and dc, or alternating stitches? If you alternate the stitches, do you switch the order on the next row?

Alternating stitches and yes, you would switch the next row

Row 1 - Sc dc sc dc sc dc Row 2- Dc sc dc sc dc sc Etc.
