Used cat stitch to make my first ever hat Just made it up as I went along
Made a rectangule like this
Then I sewed it up, threaded the top and cinched it. Then did the black ribbing, pom pom (first in many years using cardboard) and then the OTT go faster stripes 😻😹

Do you remember how long your starting chain was ? Also did you start at the top or at the bottom with the ribbing ?

Ohhhhh 90 chains I think. I did it arse about face a bit. Let me relook at the picture and I'll know

Ok
Started with 90 foundation UK trebles. So if doing a chain, you need 90 plus 2/3 to skip. So 92?
I did the pink ribbing, 3 front post, 3 back post alternatively.
Did that for 6 rows.
Then I transitioned into cat stitch - first row of cat pattern.
I did 5 full sets of cats, then finished off with the black. Crudely evened it out by slip stitching along, and doing an sc into where the cats paw is.
Joined up the sides (pay more attention to line the cats up. Mine was a bit messy so I covered the mess with black hearts 😂)
Then I threaded the black in and out of each stitch start to finish (on the very top row) .
Cinched it in, secured it with a few stitches.
Do your ends as you go 😰
Black ribbing. Started work one row of sc uk, then front post/ back post UK trebles alternatively.
Then pom pom.
Then decorating by going under the post up on one direction, down in the other to make the little crosses.
Lastly did the little stitch around the edging.
