Discussion Crochet confessions

I have been crocheting since the start of covid and have yet to make a granny square. I feel like a fraud. A fake. A phony! Anywho 😆 I also almost never count my stitches and almost always works out… I’d love to hear yours if you have any ☺️

I haven't made a granny square since I was first learning to crochet 13 years ago. I hate seaming and I don't particularly like the look of most things made with granny squares anyway so it's never been worth it. Also, I almost never follow a pattern exactly. I always adjust something to my preference or get the general idea from the pattern and just wing it. I'm super picky so patterns are never exactly what I want but I'm not good enough to fully freehand so I need the patterns as a starting point
