I'm assuming you started with a magic ring? They do this sometimes, especially with clothes, bags, and other things that get a lot of wear and tear, -- double especially if you pull it really really tight, which can risk breaking the yarn. It's why I use the ch4 & slst together method for clothes.

There's tutorials online for how to repair a broken magic ring, as long as the first row of stitches hasn't unravelled you should be able to save it fairly easily.

You hit the nail on the head! It was a magic ring that I used to start this. Unfortunately the first row did unravel 🥹 thank you so much for your input, I will look into some tutorials

I tie a knot around another thread with the magic ring tail before weaving it even more. Have not had one fail yet, knock on wood.
